Alpinestar Tech 10's

I got them from a friend who rides for Alpinestar/Honda for like $100 with not much use on them at all.

Only pic I have where you can see them:

My first riding boots were a pair of Mr. Motorcycle boots with the old speed laces back in the mid 80s....lol Some of you older guys might rember them. From the 90s till now I only use Alpinstars, I used to use Tech 5's but they quit making them so i went down to the Tech 4's.

I can't make the adjustment from work boots to riding boots. I wish I could wear riding boots but every time I try it just doesn't work. I shift with my ankle, so to speak. With riding boots it seems you have to use your whole leg to shift. I can't seem to change the way I ride. I've been riding for about 20 years so....

i decided to save my work boots from abuse after getting stuck in one hell of a smelly clay pit with my spares, thank god. the clay still hasn't come off the tires completely, gives me an excuse to spin my wheels >:)

Adjust the shift lever up so it is easier to get your toe under it. This helps a lot with boots.

The nicer boots break in well and move a lot more. My garnier SG-10's are amazing. I ride all day as hard as I can. My whole body will be destroyed, but my feet and ankles feel like I didn't even ride. It has memory foam around the ankle and they also don't need to be broken in.

I wont buy Alpinestars again (even though they are also great, just not as good IMO after using both, i don't care for the little booties in tech 8's)

One issue though, the SG-10s have lots of hard plastic and scratches the bikes fenders. I wear some old retro honda leather boots on my trikes.

Canada!

My frist pair of boots were called FullBore, they had a metal plate to protect your shins. I can remember the smooth soles and slipping sliding around on muddy trails when stuck. I wish I never beat them to death but I did have a pair of those red SCOTT boots...man they became collectors items and at one time brought good coin. Then I moved on to AXO II which actually held up well for an affordable boot. Today Alpinestar tech6, a desent boot for under $300, but I buy them large and put jell insoles to make them extra kooshy...Just ask Raffa...You Jellin?

i was the same way til i made myself do it.. eventually I learned to shift with the edge of the boot on the tip of the shifter..it requires far less ankle movement. When i tried raising the shifters high enough to get my foot under them it was then high and awkward for downshifts.. its gets easier as the boots wear in.. now i leave my shifters in regular position cuz i still like to drag race in regular boots sometimes. But I dont jump, ride dirtbikes, or try unlikely hillclimbs without them

Tech 7s were my first pair. i was complaining at a local motorcycle shop that me feet were hurting from jumping and they said to try a pair of Tech 7 Alpinestars. they sold them to me at cost. i was 18 and got my first pair. when i was around 22 i sold them and went to Tech 8s and at 33 went to Tech 10s. i love the Tech 10s for MX and freestyle but like the 8s better for riding.

ask this guy^ he might have some extra. to be actually honest, i googled metal boots, but i bet you wouldn't ride a trike in stripper boots. Although they look like they might provide great shin and calf protection :P

my 1st boots i got from bobs cycle supply about 13 years ago...not sure if they even in biz anymore. they were some cheap $150 answers that only lasted about a year. after that i got new tech 8's for free when i was asking for sponserships to race a yz125.

my fav pair was axo rc5s!

my current pair is alpinestar tech 6's...not as comfortable as the axos.
