It has to do with how many posts you have. Also, the admins can give you a custom title if they feel you are deserving of it

I would be real careful about requesting it to be changed. I have seen it not turn out so well for the requester.

Right, that is what I meant but it was kind of hard to get from how I worded it. I have seen them give custom titles to troublesome users that deserved it
