I recently got a gopro 960hd.
Took it out and tried it out on my streeted cr last week when we had the warm cpl of days.
My problem is my desktop is a relic and on its last lef anyways and wont play the footage (plays super slooow)
My question is this, im cruising craigs and ebay for a replacement tower, what are the minimal specs needed to run the gopro footage? Im really not computer savvy at all.

What program are you using to open the GoPro files with? If you haven't tried it yet, download and install VLC Player (Link Here) (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/)

If it still won't play, then yes, you'll have to upgrade - but it's worth trying VLC first!

What inv3ctiv3 said, messing with hd videos requires high performance from a pc.

If you want to edit the video, it requires even more.

I built a pc for 700$ a year and a half ago, It has these specs.

2.8ghz AMD dual Core processor
4gb ram
a decent Gigabite motherboard
and a Nvidia 9800GTX video card
I think it has a high end 750watt power supply as well.

I stream tv to my flat screen all day, Play games at max settings, do AutoCAD drafting with no issues, but video editing with my goproHD videos will make it think for a bit.

Almost time for a new tower.
