If I didn't pick up my 250r last week then I would be all over this

http://treasure.craigslist.org/mcy/2238897896.html

What's it worth & are these good bikes?? How would it compare to my 350x and 250r in performance? I was thinking of making an offer, its only 5 minutes from my house

Looks very original and if so, that's a good thing.

I had one and it hauled ass, but I had a KX motor in mine. They vibrate apart and the 84 had weaker frame and footpegs than 85. In 1984 it was probably the fastest 3 wheeler you could buy.

Probably needs $250 stator and flywheel. Use that to negotiate price to under $500 if you can.

I think I could get it for $400 if I tried. Guy said he traded a Suzuki LT230 for it but now doesn't have the time or money to mess with the Tecate.

If you can get it for a good price it would be worth picking up. If nothing else fix it and sell for profit to somebody on here. You better act fast now that you posted a link to it though lol

$500.. There is no telling what's wrong with it. As nd4speed said $250 for the stator and flywheel.. That may not be why it's not running.

And if no one is interested in trikes in that area, shoot, $200-$300 for a non-runner. Whose gonna buy it for $800?, that's funny. At least the dude has a sense of humor. Many members on here got running Tecates for around $500. Unless it's running, it's a parts bike, not much better than that. If the dude had it running, then a rider in that condition is around $400-$500. At any rate, if you get it for under '5' you'll have a grand into it easy before long, just to much fun.

I got mine for $375 and dropped atleast $600 into it in no time. But I bought whole parts KX250 just for it.

Tell him, he would have to sell piece by piece if he wants $800.

Go over there and check it out. Every flaw you find you can ding him down. It's going to cost around $200 to do the stator/flywheel upgrade. Tell him that $800 is just too much to throw down for something that you don't know if it runs. That's what I would do. I'd say $400 cash in hand.

As for speed... Fastest of the 84 trikes out there off the factory floor. I'd imagine with engine mods it'd be able to get up there with a stock 85-86 250r...
