Just hooked up a radio in my sprinter work van. New sony cdx-gt35uw. Head unit works great. But everytime I turn on the van it goes back into demo mode and all my presets are gone. EVERYTIME! What give's?

Head unit has 2 power connections - one constant, on acc or when the key is on. Sounds like they're flip-flopped on your install or the constant is missing. I have a similar HU in my Civic.

^^^^^ there right, also check your fuses make there they arent full of crap on them that will also kill the power to the memory.

Best way to figure out which wire is the memory is to check for power with key off engine off with a test light

Not sure what's wrong guys. My yellow and red wires aren't mixed up. The only wires not used are blue, blue/white, pink and orange. By my knowledge they have nothing to do with this issue. Not sure what's up.

for some reason you are not getting constant power to the unit, as mentioned use a wire tester and see if the yellow wire is hot with the key off as well as the others. the blue/white on I think is for a power antenna not sure about the others. Check fuse for the yellow wire under the dash or where ever your fuse box is. check wiring diagram for your car if all else fails. If you have power to the yellow wire and your connections are good then it is a problem with the HU

Not sure what the colors are supposed to mean without the docs but I suggest checking the constant and switched power leads from the car with a test light or voltmeter and make sure they do what you expect. If they do, maybe the HU is bad. It happens.

I wonder if the fuse is popped on the constant power - sometimes that happens during an install if the battery was not disconnected.

I googled this - some interesting Sprinter specific info - maybe related to your issue?

I used to work for an audio shop. Its your constant power, for sure. As everyone else said, make sure there is 12v + on that wire attached to the yellow one from the head unit. Ive had to wire up new constants because the cheap wiring auto manufacturers use has broken inside the insulation. If all else fails, run 16 gauge fused wiring direct from the battery.
