Hey all,

I just bought a fairly nice 1985 Kawi KLT 160 today on a local car club forum, guy wanted $400 for it so I talked him down to 280 bucks... got it home, and got it running, needs a good carb cleaning, new plug, plug, oil change, clean the air filter etc... but runs good everything works, all the original plastic on it still no cracks... I eventually want to get a tri Z 250.

I also am into car and drag race a 1985 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe, used an have an 84 Mustang SVO that ran 11.80s.. got bothered about a roll bar so put the svo back to stock sold it and am continuing on with the TC.. here is a vid of it incase there are any car/turbo heads on here lol..

I also port and polish cylinder heads and am going to be buying a flow bench hopefully soon, done a lot of different stuff so far..

Anyways I love three wheelers, and like mentioned I want a TriZ 250 badly, I've had a ton of dirt bikes, from 85s [im a big guy] to an 84 CR 500 I redid.. You can see some of them here I guess.. http://ohreally.mnsi.net Just thought i'd join up and say hello! Thx for reading my dribble LOL!

Oops almost forgot, pics of the KLT.. here you go..

That looks like a nice machine to start with. Lots of riders from Ontario lately. You guys could probably get your own version of Trikefest going?

Thanks a lot for the links, the carb is leaking some fuel, i'm guessing floats, so I am going to pull it apart and give it a good cleaning..

The prev owner stored it outside but under a tarp and so the inside of the gas tank developed some filmy rust in some spots. Whats a good way to clean that out, I was going to just put in some gas and shake it around, but what about clr or something?

Hey guys well I have a problem. Trike runs great but once it's run for a few mins, it dies out, having the choke on helps but it ont move under its own power.... Plug looked dry.

The line from the tank to the carb is not clogged as I let it run for a min.... I still need to pull the carb apart and clean it, but, carb shouldnt run like am million bucks, then act up once warmed up???????

Any ideas.. arghhhhhh

Thanks

Welcome to the fourm :beer
Take that carb apart and Giver a good clean...sounds like a partially clogged pilot jet or some water or floaties in the bowl..Could be Other things..But start with the simple stuff.

Thanks, yeah im gonna clean the carb tomorrow.... I have this trike sold to my buddy for 450.. and there is actually a TriZ 250, an 86 that is about 10 mins from me, or at least was, and was buried deep in his garage, he fully restored it and wanted 1200 bucks for it, and I will be going this week to see if its still there..... he was of the mindset then, that if he sold it cool if not meh...

I wanted to trade him my CR 500 for it he wouldnt.
