I responded to an ad that said will trade 2 3 wheelers for a pop up camper. I was ready to give the camper away so I figured I have nothing to lose.
I got a new condition unrestored 1987 200s and a non running but nice 1983 atc70.
I see plenty of info regarding 1983 models but it seems the 1987 models are non existant. What gives? Is this thing rare? I will post some pictures today.

You are not going to get a very good welcome by coming around here flaunting that good of a deal in everyone's face LOL.

Great find, and WELCOME to the forum. You will have more 3 wheelers than you have sense before you know it. You defiantly have something to be proud of there with that 87. Some folks on this board would give their left nut to have an 87.

Well I just went outside and looked for the date of manufacture sticker and dont know where to look. At this point im assuming its a 1987 because thats what the guy said. Where is this sticker located?
Here are a few pictures anyway. Maybe the vin will give me the model year? Can the vin be decoded?

I decoded the vin using http://atcvin.webs.com/ and vin # JH3TB0535EK314767 SHOWS 1984 ATC 200S. I guess I was'nt so lucky. Well its a sweet one anyway. With a little detailing this thing is definitely a surviver. Looks like original tires on this thing.

Even though it isnt a 87 model, still a clean little machine, and definately worthwhile trade for a camper you were gonna give away! Wheres the pics of the 70? I am still trying to find one local, that wont bend me over in cost!

I don't understand what value a 70 could have. I wouldn't put my kid on it. I have a nice LT80 and a 250ex for him. With all the bad history about non suspension 3 wheelers I just can't do it. Is the 70 for you to ride? I know they have the torque to pull 200 lbs.
I will see if I can get a pic or two up today. It needs a pull start assembly. I looked on ebay and they go for $100! WTF? This thing may be push start only.

while i certainly wouldn't dare try to tell you what you should or shouldn't let your child do, i might respectfully remind you that this is a pro-three-wheeler site (hence the name), and the mentality that "because of all the bad press and hype( i won't say history because they are not nescesarily the same thing) these three-wheeled things are unsafe" is exactly the opposite of what this site represents.
does that mean i think you should let your kid ride it? hey, none of my business.

just my 2 cents.

p.s. great score on both machines, good luck with them!

To each their own, if you don't want to put your kid on the 70 then by all means don't, but no need to play into the bad publicity hype the trikes got all those years ago. The machine is only as dangerous as it's rider. Any machine taken beyond it's capabilities can be dangerous regardless of the number of wheels it does or does not have.

Theres nothing wrong with a kid driving a little 70 atc cause you can always modifiy the throttle so the kid can't pop it wide open. Thats nothing this hill billy down the street put his little kid on a dirt bike.In my opinion the dirt bike is far more dangerous for a kid than a three wheeler.

Here in MN, I am hard pressed to find them much under 500 bucks... (and in a shape, not worth that number) They came with a throttle limiter, so I wouldnt have any issues letting my kiddo ride one! And they have more than enough power to pull a 200lb guy around! (especially with a 140cc lifan in it!)

You are definitely lucky. It's not easy to find a machine in that amazing of a condition, AND for that price either. Usually you find a cheap trike that's beaten up and ready to beat the snot out of, or you pay top dollar for a machine in amazing condition...
