i'm helpin out one of the guys at work lookin for a good quad. he needs it for basic hunting stuff. lugging equipment to the site and whatever he gets back from the site. among a few other things like having fun. he wants something around a 250-400. any suggestions? i'm lookin on craigslist so if you know of something on there that would help. thanks

The best bet is a Polaris 400 Scrambler 4x4 . Good all purpose quad. Also try looking in Kijiji.

old honda fourtrax 300 are very reliable and can be cheap

its a bit spendy but the 2005 can am outlander 400 is a great 4X4. thats what my dad has and its pretty nice.

honda 400ex's are nice... enough torque for any purpuse and enough speed to get you somewhere fast and fun.

400EX wont cut it if he wants to hunt lol. maybe find an old bayou, had a 220 years ago, it did the job was fun.

Watch out for CVT transmissions in the smaller CC machines. Parents had some newer Kymco 300's I believe, and our old '81 ATC 110's would outclimb those newer bikes any day without even trying.

Thats the problem right there. The main 6 brands have the CVT system down pretty good, especially the newer ones.
