Does anybody make a die that is the size of a nut? I need to fix some threads in a really tight spot that nothing can get to but a nut. Its an m8x1.25. My die is a whole inch and thats way to big.

Never seen anything. you may be able to grind the die down, i knwo the outsides of a die are all made the same size regardless of the thread so they all fit into the same die handle.

Sears has this one that has an 8X1.25 die:

I bit the bullet and bought a set a few years ago. It has come in handy more than I ever thought it would

there is different od size dies and handles. theres 13/16", 1", 1 1/2, 2", 2 1/2", 3" and probably bigger. theres also hex dies.

best thing you could so is get a hex die and use a socket to run it down the threads.

The set I posted above sblt's post are indeed hex dies, but they are designed to repair a damaged thread, not cutting a new one, although I have used a regular die for repairing a damaged thread. sblt's link would be much cheaper route to go. I bought the set because I do enough wrenching where a full set came in handy.

They make chasing nuts that are just that, the size of a nut. You can get a whole set at sears and likely harbor freight

Same thing I had in my post, but the link was bad. Link has been fixed, but here it is again (sears rethreading kit):
