It supposedly uses an infrared 'flash' to take night pictures.

The flash is invisible to the human eye but throws enough light
for the camera to record.

They say the batteries will last for months and shoot over 1,000
pictures for under 100 bucks.

Might be nice for security too?

Any one have good luck or suggestions with critter cams?

I bought some very expensive ones a few years ago for security. The infrared flash at night works awesome, and they do indeed take a ton of pictures. I had mine positioned in such a way I basically got pictures every 3-4 minutes during the entire day (a branch was in the way and everytime the wind blew, it triggered the camera) Mine are 5mp and the picture quality is quite good. The only thing I hate is the stupid little plastic tab for the strap that holds them onto a tree. Thats a very weak link.

Thanks Billy

They do not come with an sd card but there is also NO mention of it on the packaging or in the instructions, so it will not work at all until I get one.

The sales guy even read it all before I left the store so I wouldn't have to go back.

Good reviews on the tasco infrared 5 megapixel for under 100$, so I guess we'll see.

I like the idea of a non visible flash so I thank you for the vote of confidence.

I guess I'll have to be careful hiding it with branches and leaves so they don't trigger it.
