Hi guys It is coming time for me to start painting my truck. I have never painted a vehicle befor so I do not know anything about it. I am going to be doing this on a budget and it will be painted in my shop at home. I am not looking for a show room look, it just has to look some what good. The paint I have picked out is dupli color paint shop midnight blue http://paintshopcustomcolor.com/public/paintshop.php So if any one knows any tips and tricks it would be a great help. Thanks Aaron I will have some better pictures with in a few days 127367127368127369

make sure its clean and prep, mask it off real good, have your paint stuff all in the same spot so you don`t have to look for it. use a scotch pad and go over the whole truck, keep it real clean, don't rush it take your time.

Isn't the Duplicolor Paintshop line a laquer? I think there are better paint options out there if you're so inclined.

A couple of things to consider:
- respirator - wear one
- prep is key - remove everything you can from the truck that is not getting painted
- mask or remove everything in your work area you don't want covered with overspray
- follow the instructions on the paint

Also, calculate your costs. Byy the time you add up sand paper, cleaners, masking tape, masking paper, safety gear, etc, you'll have a lot invested even if you already have a compressor and gun . If you catch Maaco or similar with a coupon or other sale, you might be better off costwise. Especially if you do the initial disassembly and cleaning. It's hard to save money spraying your own paint. The cost savings is in the prep.

Dont buy that duplicolor crap it is laquer.Try some PPG/OMNI or other good name paint. I personally like to use base/clear,but that is totally up to you.SYKO does some nice work so you should listen to him

I am lising to SYKO 100% on this. I was thinking about the duplicolor because it is cheap and from what I have read on the can is really easyer to paint on mixing no primer no clear just sand and paint. But like i said i am listening to SYKO to hear what he says. Thanks Aaron

It isn't perfect, truck is a 1994 Toyota lifted. Never painted or welded thin panels on before in my life.............
