i started doing this years ago because people would give me their bungees since they had lost the hooks for them. just use those cheap little keyring carabiner hooks. i use mine mainly for strapping in my small lawn equipment stuff in the bed of the truck. a little spit or lube and they slip right on no prob, once dry they're hard to move around though. plus they can't really slip off and get lost. :beer
IMO the sad part is i have been doing this for years and now i've seen them in a sales ad. dang it, why didn't i do something with this idea?

Whenever you get a great idea,
describe it, take pix or drawings and mail it to yourself
and do NOT open it.

If someone else comes up with it, you hand your mail to the judge and let
THEM open it.

It has a gov't postmark on it...you did it first.

Not bulletproof but better than nothing.

Also make a few variations since anyone can change your ideas by 20%
and get around patents.

as far as the xray comment...
a tuning fork set to ringing and placed on a suspected broken bone
will vibrate the pain sensitive fibers and send you thru the roof.

An xray may not show a hairline fracture until it starts to heal.
a week or so later.
Still kicking myself over that one.

Tuning forks should be in every first aid kit.

There used to be a 'disclosure document program' thru the patent office
where you could get an official stamped copy of your ideas
that would protect you for 2 years.

I got one for one of my daughter's ideas when she was like 8 years old.
She still has it framed and helped her realize almost anything is possible.
