Dear Lord, lead me not to the temptation of posting in threads that ask:
What color should I make my trike?, which trike is the best?, Or X-box vs PS3!! Do not let other members partake of my plate of tainted cookies! Don't let me be swayed by Fabios comments! LOL Or moved to moments of insanity of the question: My trike won't start????? Lord, you know I'm a weak mere mortal. Give me strength in these times of weakness where I feel I should answer a question, when a question is asked of me. Forgive me my trike breatheran and say a prayer for my healing. LOL I feel better now.

 Amen Veal! I feel your pain brother (well, not so much about those Fabio comments;) )

It can be tough at times but I've just gotten accustomed to the large waves of newbs that invade here every couple of weeks. It's bound to happen, so we just gotta deal with it. I deal with it by berating people and degrading their machines as well as their thought processes. Yes it's kind of mean to the people on the receiving end, but it makes most everyone else laugh.

Guys, the sticker on my bike says 20:1. Why would Honda steer me in the wrong direction? I'm just going to go with 20:1 but I really don't know what oil I should use? Does anyone else have any suggestions? Wal-mart Super Tech is the cheapest, I'm just gonna go with that.

...And Saint Veal raised the Trike up on high, saying, "O LORD, bless this Thy trike, that with it Thou mayest blow Thine enemies to tiny bits, in Thy mercy." And the LORD did grin and the people did feast upon the lambs and sloths and carp and anchovies and orangutans and breakfast cereals, and fruit bats and large chu... [ "skip a bit, brother"]... And the LORD spake, saying, "First shalt thou shall put in the Holy Gas, then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then dumpeth thou thy Holy Hand Clutch of Antioch towards thy line, who being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it. Amen.

funny you mention that. I used to have a universal snowmobile manuel from the 70's that suggested 20:1 in all makes and models but if 2cycle oil was not available you could use --- motor oil mixed at --. I forget the weight and the mixture its been over 15 years since I had the manuel

I'm so pissed. I went out in the garage to start my bike, kicked it twice and it wouldn't start. I got instantly mad and came right in here to make this post. Before you ask I'll just tell you to save yourself some time wondering what might be wrong.

I didn't check to see if has gas in it, didn't look at the ignition switch to see if it was on, never moved the petcock, who knows if the kill switch was connected, I was wearing sandles, my leg is in a cast, didn't check to see if the plug wire is attached, oh and BTW I haven't heard this bike run in the last 5 years.

I have given the proper amount of information to you people over the internet to be able to diagnose my problems. I expect answers right away or this piece of crap is being parted out. Oh yeah my buddy down the street says that its because I didn't mix the gas 20:1 like the sticker tells me to and he has been a motorcycle mechanic for 50 years and knows way more than you guys do. He's just not home right now or I'd be asking him, not you guys.

We here on the boards are no ones crutch or nobodys methodone. The majority on here are enthusiasts to varying degrees. Many of us lingered on here for months as a guest before joining the boards. I'll be the first to give others credit for helping me fix the problems that I can't fix. I asked people for advice many times, but it was advice for real valid questions and it was for questions that I often searched for answers through past threads or other sources on the web. I often share my bounty with others wether it's parts that I've bought or things I buy from others or with other people who have helped me. You can think what all you want about me, but I've sent others free parts or parts to be paid when they have the chance. Or even bought parts for someone who didn't have the money at the time and sent that special part to be paid back when they could. I won't mention their names and you don't have to believe me. I've defended others on here that have been needlessly attacked, one in particular, maybe 2. LOL I'm sorry alot of people on here don't get it. Heaven help you.

sorry brother veal monkey for the harsh words. you once told me to have a thick skin. i just wanted to see if those words of wisdom go both ways. i have no reason to dislike you i was just having a bit of fun. truth be told my sense of humor is just like yours. my shoes are covered in crap just like yours, because i have the verbal diareeha and ask dumb questions. please feel free to point me to the service manual or the search tool upon such unworthy questions. please cast out all off the evil demons that poses me to ask such stupid questions, such as "why did my tire go flat". when you respond "because it is wholly". and then i take your name in vain. i do not want to be cast into the firey pits of no trike hell, and suffer for all time. i could go on and on but this is my 3rd post.

No offense taken, just splaining. But when people write back, they accuse others of being gods, or know it alls and such. That is far, far, far from me. I've given answers before that were about a different trike other than what the person working on it was. LOL So many people on here have helped me and still do help me as well as dog my case too! LOL I can't count the times that people have asked a question and there is a thread not 10 or 12 threads below theirs asking the same thing. It's crazy sometimes. It burns me when people started a parts wanted thread and add "ASAP". I hate even typing it! And I have never had to ask what color to make my trikes, I usually get suggestions! Pink has popped up several times. LOL And don't think that I haven't been thinking on that one! Or getting a white seatcover for one of my machines and having Tammy Mosh airbrush a couple brown stains on it! Then there was taking one of my rear grab bars and getting it powdercoated rookie yellow! So, I get it in return as well. Trust me on that one. But if you want to come hang out and meet the gang, well, your part of the family. We put the fun in Dys"fun'ctual! Anyone is welcome to come ride the Tigers! Turn a wrench! Tell some lies/stories! i can appreciate your point of view. that would prolly get me burning when i urinate too. but when i read this thread it sounded as if new comers were not welcome. it even made me wonder what i was doing on this board. i think a lot of new comers are now afraid to ask even valid questions. luckily for me i am not shy. i put both feet in my mouth and jump in head first. hope lots of new guys including me learn from this as what not to post.

It just mainly seems that there are people who buy a piece of crap want to come on here and be spoon fed for the easy cheap fix. And that rarely happens. And when you tell someone what they don't want to hear, well they snap back. If you looked at the members list, there are tons that come on here looking for the easy answer or looking to sell a piece of junk and try to make big bucks or even those new people that come on here and try to scam others. Members have been burned and are very leery. No one wants to turn good people away. But the sad reality is, that not all people are good and it makes people very guarded and suspicious. You can see new people join here all the time. Some stay and some go of their own free will. Some get helped along. New people aren't discouraged. New people that act like spoiled 6 year old are have a tendency to get pounced on. It happens on alot of websites. The admins look over our shoulders and pass final judgement. If things get too nasty, they intervene. We police our own and it gets a little ugly sometimes. But you've also missed alot of the real melodramas and dead cat pictures and boyfriend and girlfriend fights and discussions and locked threads! LOL There have been some real interesting people on here since I've been a member and a few jokers while I was a lurker. People with multiple names that played goofy games and people that were banned but signed back on with several more names and people that were just outright ripping members off. Heck, one guy was even a criminal from another country! So, it takes all types. Things can get a llittle heated, but big brother watches over us.

oh and vealmonkey. even though i claimed you as a god and a know it all it was just in fun.

lets end in a poem

One night I dreamed i was riding my atv along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed tire tracks in the sand.
Sometimes there were four tire tracks,
other times there were three tire tracks.

This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only three tire tracks.

So I said to the Lord,
"You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would ride with me always.
But I have noticed that during
the most trying periods of my life
there have only been three
tire tracks in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most,
you have not been there for me?"

The Lord replied,
"The times when you have
seen only three tire tracks in the sand,
is when I removed the fourth wheel to speed your journey through the
sand."

thank you and god bless

The term "restore" gets thrown around an awful lot in which case the machine is not being restored, it is being rebuilt.

There is a huge difference between a restoration, and a teardown and rebuild or customizing project.
People need to learn that.
