I recently heard the news about pilot Bryan Jensen who died yesterday piloting his Beast high performance biplane. We don't know why the airplane crashed, but from the videos we can assume his engine quit on him during his decent.

Bryans biplane is well known around the modelling community, and it is well known amongst the aerobatic pilots, as it has been copied by Horizon Hobby in model form.

I also learned about Red Arrow pilot Jon Egging who died piloting his T1 Hawk jet during the Bournemouth Air Festival. I'm not sure of the circumstances but it seems like the aircraft was somehow crippled.

And yet ANOTHER death in New Jersey when two airplanes collided with each other. One pilot ejected, the other never got the chance..

3 deaths this weekend in Aviation. I don't know the other 2 pilots, but Bryan Jensen I got to meet a few years ago. He is an amazing guy to be around, was really passionate about both the modelling hobby and the full scale hobby. :(

I had a rod let go on a Lycoming 6 cyl Bonanza but had enough altitude to get back to the airport.

Also had the top of a piston come off after an FAA approved mechanic did a top job.
Ring gap was too tight. Franklin 4 cly piper J3
Landed uphill under a powerline..rolled about 100 feet and ran like &^^%$

Oil smoke!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hot oil running down the side of the plane and into the cabin.
juuuust waiting for the big flame burst while looking for a place to land.
