i was at a local paint shop yesterday looking to buy a pint of PPG base/clear and plastic primer. Because they only sold the primer and clear in quarts and the reducer in gallons it was going to cost about 150.00 for a pint of paint. I couldnt justify that, then the guy asked what I was painting. after I told him he says I think an aerosol can would be enough for you, my reply was "no thanks" then he told me about there Spray Max system. basically they mix the base coat and put it a spray can. after figuring the total cost to be about 50.00 bucks I reluctantly said what the hell I will give it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised by the results. the paint laid on better than some hvlp guns that I have used and looks like a professional job after 3 coats of base and 3 coats clear.I'm sure some of you guys have seen this system but it was a first for me. It would be perfect for someone without a compressor or spray gun . It's not cheap but well worth it

Seems like I have 3 or 4 pages of regular pix on here to choose from but
there was a day or 2 it wouldn't let me upload.
I retried a few times over a week or so and it worked again.
NO idea why it didn't work or why it Does, for that matter.
What were you painting?
metal?
Plastic?

ive used rustoliem epoxy enamal, its about the hardness of paint on washers and dryers. if areas are sandblasted 1st it spray on no primer needed. holder up pretty fantasy. used it on all my hubs brake petals and food pegs, coms in a nice hammered finish that looks like 2toned power coat.

Rustoleum High Temp paints work well too, and once they're cured they resist gasoline and petroleum products well...
Done a couple engines with the stuff sofar.

Sherwin Williams also has a catalyzed clear coat that comes in a spray. push the button on the can to break open the hardener, then shake the can. you then have something like 24 hours to use the can before its junk. but you will get true automotive clear at a fraction the cost of buying bulk materials.

Hmmm, my car has a few spots that are in deathly need of clear coating..................
I wonder if, and how viable it would be to use the spray style coating on individual areas, like one quarter panel at a time. I wonder how bad or not it'd look.
Did you buy it from auto finishers? I had a can mixed up for my old truck when i had to repair a small rust hole on the roof, it worked good. I also used some on my drag car. The only problem is that the color will come out different if you get it in separate batches.

I know what u are talking about but that would be tough for anyone to spray without effing it up.
