Maybe a dumb question but what is the 350x steering stop cover?

Maybe a dumb question but what is the 350x steering stop cover?

No, not dumb at all Marc. I did not know what they was either until sand-puppy PM'd one day and said hey swiney, how about the steering stem covers for later X modles.
WTH ?
Like you, I have had 2 85 model 350X trikes so the bottom triple tree did not have the threaded holes where the steering stops are. If you come across any of those triples, the bottom ones, that have 2 thread holes on the top of each of the steering stops, it is a 86 modle lower tripple tree (or one that someone turned into a 86 lower tripple tree by simply drill and tapping ~ unlikely any one that bored imo)
I was over to a fellow board members area 6 weeks ago and he was just beaming with pride about his 86 350X he had picked up (it is really nice) but I just had to point out to JoeDirt that he had a 85 triple tree set up on his untouched barn find. I do beleive he still thinks I am lying :) .
I told him to get a cover off of his brother (Sand-puppy) and drill and tap.
Both of the square tubed 86 + 87 200X 6 speed Honda trikes had it standard issue and on;y the 86 350X.

Got the last of my "Katie's" one dollar opener auctions up. Have at it gentlemen !

Got it. Yeah I have an 86 with the correct tripple. Were there covers there from the factory? I wondered what the holes were for and now I know. Thanks and maybe I'll win one!

Good job guys, really good job ! Most all of the auctions was to members here !
All got bids and the finally total is 304.57 that will be pay-pal'd to Miss Katie

P.S. ~ her Kawaski Tecate 86/87 hand made coolant/reservoir over flow bottle will be ending in a couple of days and if you be needing one, might be a very good time to get in on that one.
I won't have any available at least until the first of the year, if then.

Thanks for the support guys ! john
