Yes, seriously. Not that hard to get a 250R up near 80 mph. 80mph isn't THAT fast to doubt, if it was....say.....a 350x.......going 130mph, then yes, I'd be skeptic.

my R pushes about 65mph in the sand (6th gear, topped out) with stock gearing and dg pipe/ fmf silencer, so I imagine a built motor wouldn't have a problem pushing some taller gears...

OK, well, I thought it was an exaggeration. I fidgured a stock one could not do 80mph.

I'd imagine 70ish stock, not that hard to push one over 80 with just a pipe and jetting, not to mention some re-gearing.
