heres the ad in case it expires:

Up for sale is a vintage ATC built in 1982. The bike was built by Motorcross racing world champion Marty Smith and was in the october 1982 issue of 3 Wheeling magazine ( I have two copies). I used to live by marty and got this bike in 1983. I started to restore this bike several years ago but it never was finished. The frame engine side cover and several small pieces were powder coated. The chrome was redone but it needs to be done again. The gas tank and seat pan have been repainted. A new seat was made. New rear aluminum wheels and skat track tires. The motor and transmission have been totally rebuilt (Over $800.00 dollars). This is a great hill shooter and fun classic bike. Needs very little to finish. I am moving and I have to sell it after owning it for almost thirty years.

$950.00 or best or trade

C'mon, don't you guys have one of those in your basement? I do, but mine has suspension all the way around. That's a real early non suspended trike. There were tons of r5, rd350 and rd400 motorcycles sold and there were lots of companies that made frames that fit those engines, both non suspended and suspended. Also there were aftermarket high performance parts to fit those engines. I have a set of the DG Sunburst Gold Heads for my rd350 engine. And yes, they are a part of the triking history. There were bigger engines too as well as companies that made kits that turned street bikes into 3 wheelers. The biggest problem was the street bike frames were very heavy, unlike the aftermarket frames. Alot of people laughed at the atc185s and atc250r when they came into production due to the fact that they were riding 350cc and bigger trikes at the time.
