Hello all, I'm wondering what engines will fit in my 84 br shaft drive frame? it has the 200es engine, mine has low compression and will not start. also any1 have any luck welding the front forks on these? or what other front ends might work on my br.

thanks in advance

Any chance the compression release is stuck?
Does it even have a compression release? I know some of the 185 and 200 engines do .
Valves adjusted too tight?

free manuals in the world class help section, btw.

Congrats on your new hobby.
Just be forewarned, you'll never be the same.

This might help. I did this swap a few weeks ago. It was pretty simple. You can rebuild your ES forks but it is going to cost quite a bit of money for the parts from Honda.

I thought about the decompression lever but when I put it up and turn the engine over it does release, I even took the little round cover over the exh valve and it is releasing. it appears the valves are moving freely, guess i'm going to pull it apart and see whats up inside hopefully just rings and or piston... thanks much

Don't think you need too pull the whole motor out!

It's the only front end that allows you to use the stock size front tire. I've seen an S front end put on one but the smalle tire looked a little funny. Thanks about the bracket. The hydraulic front end is night and day better than the air and spring setup that came on the es.
