Hello everyone, its my first post here and im working on the wiring on my 1984 Honda 200es. To begin with its not charging. I have ran the only test I know which is to check the resistance from the black and red wire out of the alternator to ground. It was 276 ohms which is in spec. Im not sure if this has anything to do with it but when the key is turned on, engine running or off, the neutral light will glow from dim to bright then repeat over and over slowly. Also the lights do this same pattern when turned on. I have no clue what is causing it to do this. Any and all help is very welcome! Thanks everyone!

Also my battery voltage will go up and down while running but never gets above 5-6 volts.

I would test the alternator charge coil, the voltage regulator and the charging circuit.
Check out "Charging Circuit" page 84.
