Silly question, but how's the post storm power outages?

Silly because if the power's still out, how are they going to ...respond?

I hope everyone made it thru ok.

Certainly got me thinking about frozen pipes, generators and alternate power too.

Gotta get a manual pump for my water well.
No water would be worse than no power.

Haven't had much luck finding one other than the ol' red cast iron well pumps.
There's gotta be something a little more updated, and perhaps freeze proof too.

My last post to you was what the weather channel was saying and then you were gone.
Dad says Sussex county NJ and Milford area PA are still scattered.

You risked life and limb keeping us updated.
What was the total?
Did you lose anything other than your fridge food and gazebo?


I put some water tanks around my woodstove the last time our power went out for 7 days.
That gives us 120 gallons of hot water and then
a couple hundred of straight pressurized well water to drive it all.
Tanks can be found for free.

H. Freight 2 stroke generator, 800 watts. on sale, under 100$. Fridge only takes 160 watts.
so we fire that up an hour or 2 a day.

Every winter we learn some more.

Yeah, weather channel says hundreds of thousands still without power.
Connecticut got hit hard but they simply will not say what towns.
I'm guessing Housatonic river area?

They're teasing us with an update after the commercial so if they actually SAY something,
