After a recent ride down at busco ( which was awesome and got to meet pretty awesome trike guys from the forum) we have finally come to the conclusion that we need to step it up to compete with these guys!
My 350x was running "ok" clutch died out but still got a few wins under my belt, my old man's Tecate was running like crap for a greater part of the ride but did get a few wins under her belt before she died out, and luckily my brothers 310R was letting us get some beat downs. Yet, between a can am 800 which I swear it was the new 1000 that son B**** was moving and a few others we couldn't touch em!
So as we said "we are moved to the dark side" haha and bought a banshee to build for some good running. Sadly since I got it from good ole boy she had a lot of riggin and some need of some TLC...
the new toy already had it stripped down a little and already have parts stacking up for it already

Thanks dude! We've all put a lot of time into our bikes and yeah I agree it does look sick dude. I know it sucked but we think we narrowed the problem down to the stator luckily.
Going to try, did ride it a little before i ripped it down was somewhat impressed but needs the right touch =)

Banshees will make a grown man act like a little punk, but they are the best fun as far as 4 wheels go!
Nice trikes, Matt! Those blue beadlocks look sick on that R.

Thanks man and luckily when the punk side comes around I can run back to the trike and also act like a punk on a real machine ( they're are no grown man with trikes, just big kids) haha =) I know my bro got a killer deal on fleabay for them and we where some what skeptical on how the blue would look but it set it off!
you're not missing out lol
I disagree. Ride one that runs like it should and you'll have a different opinion. Mines nothing special, but you'll need a jack hammer to remove the grin from your face after riding it.

I have rode many shees! And they are all fun, Id agree and say the most fun to be had on a quad is a banshee! You can have them stock and its fun or slightly modded for your pleasure, set of pipes and a few minor things and it will really wake up the beast. Or you can sink a boat load of cash into it so thats its to fast to ride anywhere but a strip or dunes! Many options and alot of fun to have with one. Great looking trikes also!

I will agree banshees r fun and lots of power but only in the top end. They r dogs until u r in the power band. Then u better hope u r holding on well enough or u will be off the back of the quad.
Honestly though a quadzilla is much more fun and much more power. The torque is completely rediculous. All around power that is there Any gear at any time at any speed.

If the Can Am 800 you rode with was a 06 or 7. Forget it! They are unbeatable with a pro rider. 08 and up,you can play with,,they changed the intake ,timing, Andboth cams . They are VERY Banshee like in their powerband,,I cannot STAND them! BUT,the 06 and 7's are just torque monsters! IF,,you want an Insanely nice Banshee,,I would get a 2 into 1 pipe. Hands down,,the SOUND that will emminate from that POS,,I mean Banshee,,lol,,,is Worth any price.. It also moves your power around to a much nicer ride. IF you don't get the pipe,,DEF get the single carb set up. You're also quite limited with the J arm setup.. Not the end of the world! You obviously have the skills to get in there and make this a good ride. Modification wise? There is a LOT more potential there to hop up.. However,,that 310 should handle that Banshee the way it sits? Good luck,,and we'll look forward to your progress!
I have owned many shees..Love em..First thing I do is down tune their torque range with everyone I get..But I ride em in trails.
Dont fall into the "cant get any bottom end power from them misconception"..
Mill the head to 145 PSI of compression, add a 12 tooth sprocket and a set of midrange pipes or 2-1 exhaust system, and you can out tork almost any 4 stroke in the trails.

Thanks to everyone mean's a lot to get some positive feedback since they all were built not bought . All we really want now is a 86 Tecate and maybe 86 Tri-z =). Wanna get some more pics up soon of new little things going on with all the bikes I been working on the banshee a little more and neglected my own bike . Dang new toys!! lol

I hear this time after time reguarding Banshees. If you want smooth tractable engine characteristics, dont buy a Banshee. De-tuning them to try and make torque is pointless to me. Its like trying to make a Ferrari into a rock crawler. And no, you are not out torquing modern four strokes with two little low compression, non-powervalved 175cc cylinders. Many will disagree with me but Banshees have their place, and its not in the woods. I wont even get into how terrible the front suspension geometry is on them.(good thing you can keep the front tires in the air most of the time lol) Dont get me wrong, I am not a hater, I still wish I had my Banshee for the dunes sometimes.:beer

An as for the banshee hopefully lives up to what y'all say it will. I'm trying to get it looking/running good got a whole new top end and going to port/polish the cylinders, normal bolt on's and maybe few little other things even got my hands on a set of roughened powder coated cases which I been swapping over. Just want to see how it hangs and if not going to wait a little enjoy it and then 4mil cub =)!
That is because you guys go off of others (majority rule) opinions.
You can make them great trail quads. I wont argue about it, I just want you to know it can be done. I never said "de tune". I said "down tune" as in move the torque range down.
IMO building a drag Banshee is futile against a drag trike, So we all have different opinions. To each their own. If you ever get to ride one that is properly set up as a trail bike, do it. You will be pleasently surprised. I have left raptors and 450R's stuck on hills behind me becuase they could not putt as slow as me.

i gotta agree with mosh, the banshee can be an awesome trail machine. i often ride with my uncle, he has two, one stock one built and piped.(not sure what is all done to the motor, but it is capable of ludicrous speed). we ride a lot of windy trails of loose sand. my tri z can keep up with his stocker pretty good in the woods, but he can easily loose me with the built bike.
i think it's got a lot to do with rider skill, the power is there, like any 2 stroke you need to be able to keep it in the right rpm range for the type of riding you are doing.
i've ridden both of them, and other than having to many wheels, they ride nice. powerband comes on smoother than my z, too.
p.s. sweet bunch of rides!

All the trikes are super clean, like the "hat" on the silencer of the R.
Not limited by the J arm set up. Call steller they can make you an awsome front end set up for j arms. I can get you some pics of the one in my shop you you like. You do need to watch the bushings on them, as they like to wear out rather quick. Some light port work rocket pipes and a set of 34mm carbs youll be able to keep up with anyone you want to and still ride it all day.

Audio dude, I've seen some of steller's stuff pretty killer, actually missed out on a steller +2 front J-arm set up for pretty cheap I was kinda bummed haha. I won't lie I do love the MASSIVE after market out there for the banshee!!!
An for carb's dude, are 34mm a little massive for a mildly built motor or just right on point for it dude???

BTW mosh dude that Banshee sounds like a F'n swam of bee's lol
They sound sick with the 2-1 pipe. That was my old one with a Motofast 2-1, shaved head and mid range portwork. I did not have to run it like that to get up that hill. I just liked to make that pipe sing. My brother was back at camp during that vid and he knew I was climbing something, a 1/2 mile away. They have a very unique sound over any other ATV with that 2-1 pipe.
I have had people chase me down in the trails and tell me they thought someone was riding a crotch rocket in the woods.LOL
That quad would run only about 65-70 MPH topped out, the way I had it set-up, but I never needed that speed in the woods. It was a wicked trail quad. I used it for hilliclimbing.
Nice trikes you have too.

Carb wise I guess it depends on what you want to do with it, the bigger you go the more bottom end you loose. Personally 34s are perfect for a stock cylinder built motor. Let me know if you want some pics, my buddy's j arm bike is in my shop right now (+2 swinger, stellar +2+1 j arms, f.a.s.t. dune port 4 mil, waiting on a set of rocket 2s and a pair of 34pwks., shaved bumper, everything is powder coated flat black, gloss black or red, with red and black dune cut plastics.) Like others have said, banshees have their place, stock to stock any honda will handle better, but that doesnt make a banshee bad. not really my cup-o-tea, but they are fun to ride.

Mosh, that shee sounds sweet. I had a 2003 banshee a few years ago that was all stock when I got it, I had the heads shaved and a 2 into 1 pipe. I am pretty sure when I was looking into getting the 2 into 1 setup it was your video that made me decide to get one. My brother had a 2001 banshee with fmf fattys on it and mine sounded way sweeter. They sound way better standing next to it compared to hearing the video, I was always on the pipe just to hear the sweet music it made. Lol

I ran 12-41 gearing. Hardly what you want for top end.
Oddly though I still run that gearing on My wifes Shee with DMC 916's, but she gets goin on the top end a little more that the 2-1 pipe would.
