View Full Version : posible engine swap from big red to 200m

i have a junk big red, only thing good on it is the engine. i have a good 200m but engine is guna die anytime soon its gota alot of issues. can i put the motor from the big red and bolt it to the 200m frame?

:Dthe big red is shaft drive and the 200m is chain so , NO, at least not easily, but some of the m parts could be modifyd to work on the big red! maybe pics would help get more response and to see the compatabilite of parts needed on either trike good luck:cool:

What year Big Red? The only year that would be a direct swap would be an 83...and of course you would be adding the high/low gear to the 200m. 84 is shaft drive, and 85-86 is way more work than it's worth.

the model years is the main question.
If they're both chain drive, you maybe lucky
I've heard the some electric start engines need the frame to be dented to get them in, for instance.
Little things like that need attention if you happen to go that way.

Yeah, a little more info would help.
Almost every combination has been tried by the folks on this site.

How bad is the 'm' engine?
maybe it's less work than a bg engine swap.
