Hi and welcome.

I just went to the local BLM office and got some forest land maps.
Public access is nice to know.
Also, your local motor vehicle office should have info.

Oregon has www.rideatvoregon.org
and you can take a test and get a genuine plastic off road license for FREE!

Some states require a safety class (card) and some require proof of ownership and insurance for riding on public lands.

Best to make sure you've got all your stuff in order ..safeand happy safe and happy is the mantra.
Your state may have it's own online class but oregon has worked for many members.

Sounds like you got 'busted' or at least yelled at for riding.
I HATE that feeling especially when all the rest of it is so much fun.

I've also heard that 'they' can and will TAKE your ride and put it in police impound, in extreme cases.

Let me post this and make sure that link works.

Have fun and beeeee careful
