how to adjust a big reds suspension

Does anyone know how to adjust a big reds rear suspension? I've posted this question before and got no response.

Theres a collar at the bottom of the shock that has notches in it, turn the collar too your preferred setting.

Is there a special tool that I need?

they make a spanner wrench, but you can do it with channel locks.
