So i have been working on a couple 70 projects. I seen another thread on here in trikeselvania that somebody else is building and thought I would share some pics and build progress here since I cannot there being a new guy.

So here we go plan here is to do mock up and play ride a bit to make sure i got the bugs worked before cosmetics.. I have never built or owned one of these before lets start there...lol

First one is a 79' It got a Pitster Pro 140 that I big bored to 146 with race head. I raked frame +5 degrees, did a foot brake mod, and some custom pegs that I lowered and moved forward. Also built some 1.5" wheel spacers out of polyurathane. Built my own exhaust, did some fab work on the intake to fit under tank then port work on the intake.

I have the new Pro Taper high rise bars and bar risers for it but I need to get new lever and perch for clutch, some grips and a longer throttle cable.. I also have new set of douglas aluminum wheels with a set of holeshots on them.

The second one I am having problems uploading pics so I will get them up when I get photobucket to work, I have a couple.

This one is an 80' It got a Lifan 120 E start. Pipe I built, uni filter, gel cell battery that is hinged on skid plate to conceal, I built an electronics box that is tucked into the top section of frame under seat that is waterproof that houses the CDI, Cylinoid, Regulator and a fuse block, I did same treatment to pegs down 1" forward 1", I opted not to rake this one yet. I did some intake work to get it to fit under tank then port matched it to the carb, wired in a start kill/run switch, I have new holeshots on douglas wheels for this one also.

when I got it.

these are great! I really want to buy a parts bike and build one with a clutch. I just wish there was a way to use the kicker..

Nice work man. I am starting a 1983 Honda Atc 70 project. I was wondering what will be the easiest motor swap for me? I am new to the engine swap thing. So I am trying to keep it simple. I would like either a 110cc or a 125cc kick start engine.

have not done it, but been reading up on doing it.
IMO easiest would be something like a lifan or simalar. complete with harness and electrical parts. 125 is the biggest you can go i think without having to stretch the frame. plus side is you can go auto or manual clutch. very little modding to go pull start. can kick start but would have to clearance cut your fender and use wheel spacers or take the plastic off to kick start it. can always just push start it too.

My 70 with the Lifan 140 will not push start unless someone is on it and you are on blacktop or very firm ground. the compression just makes the tires skid otherwise.
