has anyone put a 200s on an 86 200x I jus got a 86 200x bit no motor n im gonna put the 200s on it cuz I have one n love to ride the 200s but rear suspension is gonna be nice thanx for looking

yeah, do a search. it's been done quite a few times. it's also known as an Auto-X. opinions to refering it as an auto-x varys though. any 185-200 atc motors can swap in to the 200x frame (except the 200es, shaft drive). one of the reasons i can't decide on what i should try and get in the next year or so. should it be a 200x, 250es or 250sx? i'll figure it out at somepoint. :lol:

The 200s motor will not fit in the 86 200x frame without extensive modifications. Most auto-x's use the 83-85 200x, and that swap is pretty much bolt right in. However it is possible to put a 86-87 trx200sx engine in 86 200x one rear motor mount has to be modified but then it bolts right in. This gives you a auto-x with 5 speeds plus reverse plus electric start.

thanks for the correction dirtcloud, i had forgotten the 86 is differant enough it would need modifing to work with the other motors. my mistake. :beer

yea it diff needs sum modifications to rame but nothing I cant do got everything in my shop a.k.a my garage to get job done I put a 250sx front end on my 200s
