Well my fellow gun-nutz here on 3WW, I went ahead and committed to buy this little beauty. Should have it home in about 3 weeks or so... Can't wait!

It's a S@W 1911, E-Series, stainless with tactical accessory rail and Tritium night sights in .45ACP.. <(naturally!)

Whatchas think?

I think it sucks, but I will give you a few bones so it is not such a huge loss!!:D

Really sweet!

Thanks guys!

Thorpe: I don't do alot of concealed carry. When I do, I use a shoulder rig under my jacket. I walk into the store for a gallon of milk on my way home from hunting with my 44 mag under my arm felling a bit guilty, like I'm doing something waay wrong! LOL! But, most of my handgun hobby is spent at the range or out in the woods deer hunting with my magnum revolvers. I have wanted a nice, quality 1911 for some time now and that Smith really lays my hair back.

That 1911, It's a beautiful piece... My safe may need a 1911 one of these days! (I am kinda a "carry" nut, its just me) So many guns, so little money!!

HA HA! I'm in the same boat! Guns and trikes have been my big kick lately...

In my line of work, federal law kinda makes it hard for me to carry on a regular basis.. (trucker).. It's a federal offense. Yikes!

Well done!

My favorite handgun I ever fired was a full competition 1911. When I was in school in Colorado Springs in the late 80s I spent a few Saturdays on the range and that's the one weapon I remember to this day. Been a long time.

Nice looking 1911.................would like to say it is next on my list, but I would be lying since nowhere/one in my area can get thier hands on a Ruger 1911.

Nice 1911. I have a couple of Springfield Mil-Specs and a Kimber Custom Shop Royal Carry. The 1911 is a nice design, 100 years of service is a good record. I still need to add both a World War 1 and 2 era model to my collection.

Kimber Royal Carry on the left, Springfield Mil-Spec with a Marvel .22 conversion and Hogue wrap around grip in the middle, Another Mil-Spec basically NIB, only 2 mags thru it on the right. The .22 conversion changes out in a couple minutes.

Ride Red, how is the trigger on the S&W? I like a nice crisp trigger with little takeup myself........

Well, on my S@W revolvers the triggers are so good I don't see why anyone would feel the need for a trigger job. As to the 1911, I bought this gun through Gunbroker as these take an EXTREMELY long time to come in when ordered from the factory...like 9 months to a year! I have not yet handled the gun I posted the pics of, but it is NIB with full warantee. I have done alot of research looking at range reports on this S@W 1911 and have found ZERO complaints up to this point. One of the areas people complimented heavily was how nice the trigger is on them... no take up, breaks smooth and no over travel.....

Well, I picked up my E-Series and brought it home today. All I can say is WOW! I can't wait to get to the range with this thing!

But wait, I brought home another S&W last week... I already have it home as it was in the case at my LGS and I couldn't resist. It's a model 19-3, 4" bbl, shipped in February of 1971.. Not bad for a 41 year old handgun huh? SOOO much lighter than my 6" 686 and 6'5" 629 Classic.. (357 mag and 44 mag respectively)

So whatchas think of this little sweetie?

Nice revolvers guys. I'm more of a semi-auto guy, but do have a couple revolvers.

I guess so! ;)

I'm interested to know what they are. .. Particularly the one on the bottom left.. Is that an N-Frame converted to a .22???

I'm guessing top left is an N-Frame 357, and the one on the right N-Frame 44?? I could be waaay off though, hard to take a good guess without something in the pic to reference the size... Nice Smitty's!

The bull to the right is a 586 357. Has a arist-crat top, gunsmith unknown, , prob PPC gun. The action and trigger work is crazy smooth. The smoothest DA I own (and have ever shot.) Funny story, It was for sale at a local gun store, I didnt jump on it and it was gone a day or 2 later. Fast forward a couple of years, low and behold it is back at the store, previous owner who got it needed cash, I was happy to oblige. I dont think he ever shot it. I added the target type grips to help with the balance

The other two are both model 10's
Top left is a 38spl by 'glen custom'
Bottom left is a Fred Schmidt 38, made to shoot wadcutters only. That is why you noted a smaller cylinder and long barrel throat. Fit is amazing.

I am more of a revolver than semi auto guy. If for self defense I would prob choose a semi, I shoot target and prefer the feel and action of a target revolver. I also reload and dont dont enjoy chasing brass.
