With the head cover off, Engine at top dead center(unscrew the flathead plug on top of the starter and line up the T mark on the flywheel with the center of the hole) make sure the lobes of the cam are facing down. Place the Cam sprocket on the cam and loop the cam chain over it. The o mark on the cam sprocket must be on the very top center or the timing will be off. Bolt on the cam sprocket. Put your head cover back on, not tight, and check that the engine is still at Top Dead Center TDC. The head cover has a mark at the center top to align the cam sprocket "o" mark with. If you didnt get the sprocket at the very top center while putting it on your gonna have to unbolt the cam sprocket carefully slide it out to you until its free from the cahin so you can turn it whichever way you need to line up the top mark always making sure the engine is still at TDC. All you really need to do is make sure the top cam position and the flywheel position are both on their marks at the same time. Hope that helps. PM me if you need anything else.
