my computer is infected and completly effed! has any one had this or know how to get rid of it? The virus completly locks everything and and goes to a fake system check that tells you your hardrive is toast and wants you tou buy the "full version" of the system check. any help would be great but I don't know if I will be able to get this thing online again

I've used malwarebytes before. You'll have to download the free version. Hopefully it will detect it. Some Trojans are hard for the programs to detect. We have had the one you have now, and had to take it to a friend who does IT and he had to remove our OS to remove the Trojan and the download the OS again.. Now we use Norton 360 and Malwarebytes with no problems for the last couple of years.

SPYBOT Same thing happen to me and it seemed to fix the problem.

The only catch is you are not an ADMIN on the software so you can't do a few things. It's free though!! Just make sure you do the updates regularly.

You need to look and see if there is a shortcut to the program on the desktop, if there is, right click and choose properties, and look at the target of the shortcut, go to the target location, and delete the file. Then restart your computer and download and run Malware bytes. That should get rid of it.

If you could get a program call TeamViewer, I could remove the malware myself...

If not. Try to get comboFix.

The best of teh best.

Spybot works but not for serious infections that are already on your machine.

ComboFix

Here is a link for download and how to.

I had that happen to me once or twice. You have to go into the list where it tells you the dates of the latest software updates on your computer. On mine, I can figure out the day I first saw the note for the virus, then I went and checked the date of the software update on that day. Then I went in and deleted it and all was happier.

What windows are you running, windows 7 lets you restore it to a date back prior to the infection. Not sure if that will help once it's in there though......

I believe it's F8 tapped constantly upon start up.

I've already had to complete remove and reinstall my OS numerous times in the past, I'm use to it.......

I had something similar on my PC just over a year ago. After numerous attempts with Malwarebytes, Combofix and others I decided I had to do a clean system install to fix it. But by then I had got so fed up with it I went and bought an iMac - and that fixed it totally. No more problems (although it did cost as much as a small Indian car).
