you cant really tell in the picture, but the threads on the right side are screwed up. can i save these? i really cant afford a new axle :(

you could take it to a machine shop have it welded and re-cut , or have it turned down a bit and threaded for a smaller size but that's probably not recommended however compared to some things i have seen that hold hubs on it should be fine . its hard to tell from your picture but how much thread is left ? possibly use a die nut but im doubtful.

im gonna try the die, cause thats all i can do. i actually thought about havin it cut down for a smaller nut, but that would weaken the axle too much. the threads are there, it just looks like they are smashed down. if theyre cross-threaded, ive never seen cross threading like this

Looking at those threads reminds me:

NEVER UES AN IMPACT TO TIGHTEN THE AXLE BOLTS!

i think that mighta been what happened. this is the first time ive even touched the axle nuts, so please dont think it was me who did this! also have really bad carrier problem. i have another thread on that though

Well Rodeo, after 20yrs and countless owners, 200X's are and were a very popular machine. If you think about it they were geared to a some what beginer audience as a Sport entry trike. Many times the history can indicate how many hands have graced the workings of the machine. Looks like the trike may have had some careless treatment. How are the bearings, swing arm, carrier and linkage look?
