Ok... I've been on this forum coming up on a year. Bought my first 3 wheeler in March of 2011. I've posted and replied to threads as well as bought a few items from members. I'm really addicted to 3 wheels as well as the site. I enjoy the the info, pics, as well as the occasional bantering back and forth (fabio comes to mind LOL). I would like to eventually like to try and meet up with some of you guys/gals for rides in the future but realized I don't know squat about anyone on here. I was gonna see about going to pennsltucky at Braaapp's to try and meet some of you but work mandated overtime and shot that down. Sooooo, For those that are willing without giving your life story I'm just curious as to what you do for an occupation and how old are you? Just want to get a feel for what type a person gets this itch and if I'm in the minority as far as age. I know I could scour through profiles and get some insight but thought this might be more interesting for myself as well as others. That being said I'll go first. I'm 44 yrs old (late bloomer to trikes, I know) and work as a production tech (assembler) at the Harley Davidson final assembly plant in York, PA. Was a machinist prior to that and had a mobile DJ business for the last 12 yrs as a side job that I just dissolved In Dec (hence my site name). Like my 2 wheels (on the pavement) as much as 3 on the dirt. Name is Mike. Who are you?!

Well, my name is Joe, I'm 34 years old, married with 2 kids age 7 and 4. Been riding and wrenching on trikes, quads and sleds since about age 9... I have been a man of many hats since entering the work force after high school. Started out doing warehouse type work, then went to over the road trucking for a time, then worked for the town highway dept as a general mechanic (everything from chainsaws/weed eaters to heavy equipment and 10 wheelers), then worked as an in-home service tech on lawn and garden equipment and now currently and for the last 5 years back to trucking. I haul overweight (107,000lbs) on a couple of dedicated runs in NYS, home every night.

My interests are wheelers (3 and 4 wheels alike), sleds, GUNS :naughty:, hunting, boating, camping... Pretty much if it goes BANG or BRAAAP, I'm into it..

Md. licensed stationary engineer. I work in an alcohol blending and bottling factory. I'm 50. Had a trike back when there were only atc90s and atc110s. I pass by York alot and hang out with the crew near Columbia. You should stop by on a day that I get to come up and visit. It never fails to be interesting. You'll never know who'll be there.

Hi, my name is Frank and I'm a trikeaholic... :)

I try to post around here when I see something I can help with, but there are a lot of people on this board way smarter than me, so it is a bit intimidating at times...

My intro to 3-wheelers was back when I was 11. My dad brought home a brand new 1984 200ES Big Red. I've been riding ever since then. The Big Red recently got a partial restoration by me to help offset all the abuse I put it through (my dad keeps it on the farm where I grew up). After moving on to college and a real job in the city, I kinda took a break from 3-wheelers (no time, money, or space). One day, a guy at work mentioned how he was going to "throw away" his old 4-wheeler. I asked what he was talking about. Did he mean an old kids powerwheels or something? He said no, a Honda TRX125... I said I'll take it! (it needed a TON of work) So, this got me back into the ATV scene. Soon after, I acquired my first 350x in a trade for some small block ford engine parts, and it went on from there.

I'm 38, married with two kids. My son (8) rides the TRX125, but my daughter (6) still hasn't wanted to try things out herself yet. I work as an engineer for Chrysler helping develop electronic 4 wheel drive systems mostly for Jeeps and Ram trucks.

So MRSOUND, what made you want to get into 3-wheelers anyway? Usually, as was the case for me, it is something that takes you back to your childhood. Were you into quads or Jeeps?

Well My name is Tom. For the last 15 years or so I have been in the printing industry and construction on the side. I got my first 3wheeler when I was 14. It was a 1985 KLT110. 6 months later I sold it and bought a brand new 85 200x. I sold that trike a few years later in 89. Jump ahead to 2008 and my wife finds a 85 200s at a barn sale. Well I went and bought it and I have the sickness again. I always tell my wife it was her fault I got back into trikes lol.

Veal - Would be great to hook up some time! I'm 15 minutes from Columbia just on the the other side of the river.
Frank - Actually bought the BR as a tinker project. Before that I bought an old harley 3 wheel golf cart and rebuilt it to use at the campground we were in only to find out they wouldn't allow due to insurance liability so I sold it to a friend. Enjoyed bringing it back to life and while searching craiglist for something to tinker with next found the BR. Changed the fluids and shot some starting fluid at it and it fired up. Took it for the first ride around the yard (with a Yammy MX80 gas tank since it had none) and I was hooked. Wife says it's my midlife crisis:crazy:. Sorry no childhood history with trikes like alot of you guys so I'm way behind on the experience curve.

Hi, my name is James , ive been riding quads and some bikes for a while now, but I just got into trikes a couple years ago when my buddy who rode a 400ex wanted me to go riding with him. Well, seeing that I didnt have anything to ride and not much money I couldnt do so. That was until he found a 84 200s on clist. Basically he bought it for me and I paid him back in a few payments. The addiction for trikes grew from then on. I am 28 with and awesome gf and two amazing kids, 5 yrs and 4 months. My gf and I both work as Child Care Workers at the local childrens home.

My name is Matt and I'll be 43 in April. I had a few friends who had 3 wheelers that I rode when I was younger, but I had a '76 XR75 dirt bike. Fast forward to December 3rd 2007... I was working new home construction when the scaffold I was on collapsed. I fell about 20' and landed on my outstretched right arm. I broke my ulna in 4 places, grenaded my radial head (top side of elbow) and ripped my rotator cuff badly. I've had 6 surgeries trying to fix all the damage, lots of plates, screws, and even an artificial elbow for awhile. I had alot of time off of work and I needed a hobby. I was also pretty broke at the time, so I traded an old Cub Cadet lawn tractor for a basket case 350X. It was pretty much a parts machine, but I didn't know any better. 3 years ago, I bought another 350x and started gathering parts to make it a rider. I was hooked... since then, probably 20 wheelers have passed through my doors... I still have 7 or 8 of them. Now I am about to embark on a new career, I have half an elbow, and some pretty cool scars

WOW!! There's a bunch of old farts here!!

I'm Dave, 52. Married, no kids. Worked on a farm when I was young. First "real" job at 16 was pumping gas. Yes boys and girls, there once was a day when someone would come out and pump your gas for you. Sometimes if they were good, they even checked your oil and washed your windsheild. Then worked at a woodshop, machine shop, then at 25 went into concrete construction and been there ever since. Do all of my own wrenching except for the machine shop stuff. Been around wheelers since about the mid-80's Never owned one until 1998 when a buddy wanted to give it away and I got it, a 1985 200S, which will soon be the focus of a build thread. The wife and I ride quads and Harleys (Thanks MRSOUND!) ;) I have an 85 Low Rider, she rides an 98 Road King and a 76 FLH. I'll wrench on anything mechanical. I sometimes tell bad jokes, occasionally, even worse puns. I like beer, bonfires, long walks on the beac......ummm wait ...nevermind

I have a full time business running a couple dozen apartments. Other than that I am a journeyman of local 17 sheet metal workers (HVAC) but things got slow and I amped up my machine shop/welding/fabrication business until this endeavor.

I piss people off when I speak the truth (or my feelings be them right or wrong) and I love preserving trikes and adapting newer models parts to older machines. But, I'll still buy/win any 25y.o. crate motor I see; Or at least try to :D Honda did it right!

I have little fee time at this moment but "this too shall pass"!!......

I'm Rodd, I'll be 42 in a few months. Born in central Pennsylvania and grew up in Upstate New York before we migrated out of the snow belt about twelve years ago, I've been in the commercial roofing and sheet metal industry since I was 18 and have spent about the last ten years in estimating and project management. I have a great wife and four kids (14,15,16 & 17)I've been around bikes since I could walk. I grew up watching Evel Knievel and during the trike boom (and subsequent fall from grace). I enjoy all types of riding from trikes to enduro to riding on the street. I bought my first Harley when I was 18 but I like all bikes and have a special interest in two strokes and other bikes that aren't main stream such as ATK's and Husqvarna's. As far a trikes go I currently have (3) first generation Tecates (and a couple more in parts) (1)Tri-Z (in parts) (2) YTM 200's and an 84 Big Red as well as a batch of bikes.

I'm Bill,41 yo. THE luckiest man you will ever meet ! Father of 4 amazing children. We are also a foster home.10 people in our home,6 are special needs. I care for both my parents,my brother, and my wife and 2 kids have Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy. Some clueless folks sometimes think I'm crying on their shoulder when I explain that. I am not. I only point it out because,it is quite difficult,,to say the least,to find a lot of time for a occupation doing what I do ! Anyhow,I am a born and bread Dairy farmer.Saw my 1st 3 wheeler ad in Successful Farming magazine,,,,Kawasaki 200. Dad was a Honda man,so we bought a 1981 Honda ATC 110. The rest is history. From there it was a 81 ATC 185S,82 200E's,84 200E's,85 250ES,84 200X,85 250R,86 TRX 250R. ALL,new. We worked our fingers to the bone, sweat blood, don't smoke, drink,go out, shoot darts,golf,etc... And wasn't about to apologize for loving our ATC's,and John Deeres ! I opened a shop when I graduated in 88,,fast forward 24 years. I am in the house caregiving,,getting to turn wrenches is now a great priviledge and release! Sorry, turned into a book. I should have said,I'm a washed up farmer. Hope you can make your way North sometime. I have a lot of 3 wheelers,I will gladly show you around a Very nice chunk of motorsports history.Sorry, No Harleys though!

Hey - Cool Post!!! I'm Tim, I am 36 years young. I work at a small Independent Telephone (broadband) company in Rural Pennsylvania. I do everything from keeping our digital video head end running, to installing home video service / Internet Service / phone service, keeping our internet service up, maintaining thousands of miles of phone line (both buried and aerial). I've been into trikes since I was a wee lad. I love outdoors, and thrashing on machines in the outdoors. I ride Dualsport bikes in the summer (08 XR650L and 06 CRF450X - both street legal) and Sleds in the winter (05 Skidoo GTX800 3-up touring), and trikes all year round. I love tinkering with trikes, and building quad to trike conversions with my cousin. Most of my family (brothers / cousins) are into the trike scene, as well as many of my local friends. I have meet many wonderful people from this board that I am proud to call close personal friends, and I even enjoy traveling on weekends to see my trike buddies. Most people think it is really weird when I tell them many of my best friends I have meet on the internet - I always follow it up by, no, we are not weird or pedophiles - LOL.

Lovin the response this thread is getting! As Frank (wonderboy) mentioned in his post I too feel that that shred of intimidation due to my lack of knowledge of trikes and their history. Also had an unfounded fear that I was the only "old" guy on here and would show up at someones ride and feel like the chaperone LOL. Never mentioned but I have 3 daughters 22, 19, & 17.
Bill - I would love to have the opportunity to see your collection and take in some of that history. Maybe when the weather warms a little we can work on that. I see enough Harleys every work day so no worries there.

Keep'em coming! I know there are self proclaimed "lurkers" out there just dieing to post. Here's your chance!

See,,,that just bothers me that ANYONE would hesitate to post because they haven't dedicated their entire lives to a knowledge base of 3 wheelers! 2 years ago,,,before I ever saw this site. I TRULY believed I,was the only freak on this Earth who had a deep heartfelt emotion with 3 wheels. My knowledge was vast. After coming here, guess what? There are guys who know WAY more than I do,in their respective classes of machines[ Especially Green!,lol } .Anyhow,I thought this was a place to come and be HELPED. I know personally, when our new John Deere quit. I was looking at a MINIMUM of Thousands of dollars ,Simply to get it trucked to a JD dealer,,too mention, the bill to fix it! Guess what? It quit last year plowing snow, dead in the middle of the driveway, it only had 162 hours on it,plastics still on the seat.No way to get an ambulance in and out or anyone. I came into this computer, googled 6410 won't run. Went to that forum,A JD tech was there, and I was rewired around the damn sensors and running in less than an hour. Same for Dodge trucks ,computers etc... This site should be to help, WITHOUT intimidation. That's what I have tried to do. As in ANY crowd,,theres gonna be your jerks, and they can certainly be found here. But on a whole, pretty good. Ask away with questions! If you're wondering, probably someone else is too! I have many questions, and I've been obsessed with these for 32 years.

My name is Kevin. I started riding 3 wheelers and just about anything else I could get my hands on in the late 70's. I'm 47 yrs old, with 4 grandkids. Married, and she puts up with my toys, for the most part. I have worked in aviation for 25 yrs, anything from the B-2 Stealth Bomber, to the airlines, to corporate jets. This is where I am now. My Stepson is Obijuan on the board, and he is pretty dang handy with the tools as well. We ride together a lot. We are both in central/south Texas, and are as lucky as we can be with having places to ride. Still love the trikes, and always have a few around.

I am Michael, 31 yrs old, from southeastern Massachusetts. I have been in many professions in my 31 yrs, including, food service, construction, banking, metal fabrication, techical recruiting, and IT. I am a Microsoft certified computer technician and am currently working as a desktop support technician for a large printing and mailing company. I was married, now divorced with a great girlfriend who came with a 2 yr old boy who I love to death.

I have always had a thing for 3 wheelers but didnt get the opportunity to own 1 until 2 years ago when I bought my 85 250SX at a flea market with the direction of one of the most unique guys on here, FABIO. Since then I have purchased an 86 350X, and have been into it every since. I am still a novice on these machines, but I have done trails, some flat track and ice racing already and absolutely love it!!! My girlfriend loves 3 wheelers and wants to get one of her own, pushing a 200x on her for that idea.

My interests are 3 wheelers (who saw that coming, huh?), computers, trucks, mustangs, movies, and all sort of technologies. I have met some really great people from this board and hope to have the opportunity to meet more. Going to try like hell to get to Trikefest this year, will have to see if there are any funds left after getting into a new place.

My name is Dave and I recently have started working at a precast concrete company I used to be the boss at a few years back. I am married to a good woman who puts up with alot of crap from me and have two boys (6 and 2). I was always into all kinds of riding and have pics of me and my Dad when I was 2 on one of his trikes. Have owned everything from old Bultacos to 6 wheelers. I always had a love for trikes but in 2005 both of my brothers were killed in motorcycle accidents 2 months apart. All I had at the time was a street and trail bike and my mother asked me to get rid of it so she didnt lose her last child so I traded it even up for something less dangerous- an 85 200x and a cub cadet riding mower. Then I traded that + some cash for a 350X then got my first 2 stroke (Tecate). I was hooked!!! Thought I was the only one that had a great passion for these machines then stumbled upon this site. Now I have my garage packed full of trikes and parts and enjoy the looks I get when me and my family get those looks when going on a ride some where. Im sure you know what looks Im talking about. This site is my facebook and really enjoy everything about it.

name is Jon, age 39. born and raised in Southern Illinois. did factory work for a bit when i was younger, but never liked the whole timeclock thing and one day decided to just work for myself. i now make my living doing landscaping (walls, flowergardens, tree/shrub trimming, mowing, etc..) in the warmer months and help my brother off and on during the winter months with remodeling his bosses rental houses. on the weekends i help out a family friend who is very sick (was given a year to live back in 2001!) with his animals (he and his family are pet rescuers). so every weekend i go and shovel/wash out the pens and take care of his property. also help my buddies with their project toys and in the pits if needed when they go racing. i don't make a lot of money, but i live comfortably enough that i'm happy. it does hinder the ability to do a proper resto, but i do what i can to keep my stuff running/looking the best i can.
growing up as a kid i was never allowed to have a 3wheeler, all of my friends had one, but not me. we had alot of fun everyday back then and i really felt like i was missing out of sorts, but i just had to get by on my 77' YZ80. finally after many years of working my butt off i was in position to finally get myself a 3wheeler and have the time to enjoy it also. picked up an 85 125M from an estate auction from a neighbor who had passed away (he was in his 80's and was a 3wheeler nut also). i had gone there to check out a riding mower, but saw the 125 sitting in the back corner of the garage and asked if it ran and the son said "yeah, my old man had it serviced every year till about 2 yrs ago and just used it putting around our farm." that was back in 09'. since then i managed to get bit by the little bug and picked up an 85' YT60 and 74' ATC70 a few months ago.
i do want to get a 250es, sx or maybe a 200x sometime soon. :beer :TrikesOwn

Darrin, 31, married with 2 little boys (3 and 1.5) MN boy all my life... Went to school for a year in Wyoming at the most over-rated tech school on the face of the earth. Spent 8 years in a fabrication shop, building street rods and muscle cars. Did alot of work with a few different magazines for some of the cars we built, and kinda got screwed and the shop nearly folded up. Pretty much hate cars now. While I was laid off I went back to school, and am now currently a hvac service technician... Got my first trike when I was 9 or 10, a POS atc110, but have had toys ever since. Love to rebuild trikes, I enjoy putting them back together as much as riding them...

Im Chase, 19 years old. My dad brought home my 1984 atc 110 when I was 8 years old. I have been riding that (which i just recently finished a restoration on after beating on it for a decade) and have had a collection of 4 wheelers over the years. we have a few trikes and a few quads these days but don't have the space we once had to ride, so the machines get alot of down time until theres snow or we plan a trip to go riding. (SAND DUNES!) I am currently working with an orthotist to get into the field of orthotics and prosthetics. Im myself Have a foot disability and have had tons of surgeries on my feet and use orthotics (foot braces) on a daily basis. So thats my motivation for working in that field. I enjoy doing hands on work like working on trikes and cars so working on people will hopefully be something I enjoy. I got a 2001 jeep wrangler 1 year ago and really enjoy that, i have taken it to the sand dunes and mud bogs and enjoy jeeping as much as I do riding trikes. I am a forum nerd and spend a fair amount of time learning about jeeps, trikes, and anything else about cars. I am also into guns ans enjoy going shooting with friends also with the shotgun, been an NRA member for a little over a year. I guess thats about it before i get too crazy and write a book haha

I grew up riding junk snowmobiles and we always had some sort of junk mini bike around. I finally bought my own quad in 2003 (a 2001 300ex) and have had quite a few different ones since then. I bought my first trike, an 82 185s, in 2006 and caught the bug. I currently only have a 79 110 and 84 200x but have owned a lot of different Honda trikes

Im 29 and work for a company called Maxim. I staff nurses into pediatric homecare for around 50 patients and 250 nurses. I have done this for 2 years now. Before this I actually had a business that Atc-Eric and I started from scratch; we were called Neighborly Care LLC and did non medical homecare for Seniors. We did that for 3 years after college, lots of good experiences from that too.

Trying to get set up with something more lucrative now, I really need to make more money for my toys and 'big boy' life lol

My name is Jason, I'm 19 years old.
I'm a full-time Landscaper and also do home renovations in the winter.
I live in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada.
I've been addicted to 3 wheeler since I was roughly 3 years old.
My Dad bought a Honda 125m new in 84', I started riding the 125 when I was 3 years old.
I rode that untill I was 17, and I bought my dream trike, 1985 Honda 250es.
5 months later, another 125m... 1 month later, 250sx, 2 weeks later Atc200, 2 months later, 350x..
I find myself on Kijiji everyday, waiting for those deals!
I have a cottage in Marmora, with a massive riding area surrounding it, aswell as our 60 acres of land.
Its my home away from home...
I am also going to be attending trikefest 2012!

Names Pete. 45, married, three kids, one grand kid. Bought my first ATV in 86 (should have bought a 350X instead!). Owned ATV's ever since. Bought my first trike in 2010 to use at my campsite, the BR, fast forward to 6 more later.....! Retired after 20 years in the military. Now I'm a Power Engineer (aka staionary engineer; same as Vealmonkey's job) for Husky Energy in the Alberta Oil Sands. I hope to do a road trip to Trikefest one year and meet some of you along the way, heck I'll even pick you up if need be. Here's an open invite to anyone wishing to travel up this way and ride. This goes for hunting season too!

My name's Brian, I'm 49, I'm a service mechanic at Overhead Door of baltimore. I'm on the electrical side and I pretty much do everything mechanical & electrical with commercial garage doors, dock levelers, gate operators & entry systems.
In the 80s & early 90s, I was a rocker,They called me DR Deth. See pics. I was in several punk bands in Wash, DC. I rode dual purpose bikes my whole life until I got turned on to quads. I bought a couple, then my buddy got this 200S & I started researching 3 wheelers online & got hooked. Bought my first SX in '06 & I'm still looking............

I'm Russ...23 years old, single, no wife or kids (that I know of...lol) Went to college for diesel mechanics. I work for a gas compressor rental/leasing company as service technician. My job is to keep service them and keep them running...work on anything from a 3304G Cat to a 3516 Cat, VRG220 Waukasha's to the 3524's, and Ajax compressors. Absolutely LOVE my job, cant imagine doing anything else. I got into trikes around age 12. I used to do some work for a friend in town and he has a 82' Big Red that I used, and I fell in love with it (ended up overhauling it for him a few years later in Votec) So I bought by first 3wheeler from my 8th grade biology teacher, a 1982 185S...and the herd just got larger from that point on lol. I also snowmobile, got into that because of the same friend, on his 89' Polaris Indy 340GT...I've been through a couple now, but I run a 03' Polaris Pro-X800 now...I'm also big into guns, have a pretty good collection. Instead of playing football like most kids in school I was on a rifle team..shot the National Matches and Camp Perry Ohio a few times. I spend most of my time outside, work and home. Been going to Trikefest since 07'. Going to start riding dirtbikes this summer, I recently aquired a 97 KX250 to kill myself on lol, was going to sell it but ATCTIM insists that I keep it to ride with him haha...Oh and I love to party...

I've been intrested in anything with a small engine for as long as I can remember, and would like to get on with a shop fixing them. My addiction started back when I was about 8 and my uncle had a trike. Finaly got my first one a few years back.

Married to a lovely woman and have a beautiful 5 year old daughter.

I am a Police Officer for a town about 25 miles west of St. Louis Mo., and I hate it.

I have been riding trikes since my dad brought home my '84 200s in 1987 and then two years later the '86 250r that I am in the process of redoing. I have owned 7 Mustangs years '80-'97, two Novas '69,'70, '98 Z-28, several Banshee's, and a couple of quads.

I am at a point in my life that I am thinking I made a poor choice in careers and wonder if its too late to do something else.

Married with two girls 13 and 15. Youngest likes to ride. Wife is very understand and maybe because she is a Parts Manager for the local Kawaski/Yamaha/Can-am/Polaris Dealer for the last 10 years(we own mostly Hondas)
Been into the ATV 3 and 4 wheelers since I was 14. First 3 wheeler was a 1978 ATC90. Raced District 6 Hare scrambles in 1988 with a 84 200X then after the AMA dropped sanctioning for 3 wheeler swtched to TRX250x. Raced both D-6 and National Hare Scrambles (today called GNCC), won the 1991 D-6 231cc-open Expert championship. Did a little Motorcross and flatrack for fun. Worked at a local Honda dealership in the Parts Dept during most of that and also attended art school. Took a break to have a family and stuff got back into trikes when I went to fix up my old pit bike (73 ATC70) for the girls to ride and found this site while searching for parts. That rekindled my addiction and have been collecting ever since. I work in the Printing Industry as a Pre press and pressroom manager of a local folding carton company in Red Lion. I was a sheetfed press operator for many years before this. Wife and I also run a part time sign and decal shop when we are not running the kids around. Life keeps me busy.

Dam sorry to hear that Bryan.. It's NEVER too late.Yeah problem is I don't know what I want to do when I grow up.

But I do know one thing and that is that Law Enforcement is the most screwed up profession I have had the displeasure to be apart of. If its not the dirtbags on the street, its the A-Holes you work with/for and in this day and age you have to be a revenue producer first, elected official wet nurse, whipping boy for the community, and if there is enough left over maybe a little police officer sprinkled in there.

I wasn't rasied to bend over and take it so I have the tendancy to tell others what's on my mind from time to time. This is very frowned upon in this line of work and the area I work in.

x2 w/ 007.
It's never too late for a change.
Sounds you have ideas to make things better in a difficult situation.
Some sort of invention? Consultant for a private security company?
Screenplay writer?
Lots of businesses love police officer work histories.
As with any licensed / certified profession, we are on the hook for tons of stuff that is
not necessarily within our control.
It often turns into a balancing act of professionalism, ethics and jurisprudence instead of
focus on our primary duties.
It's not all life and death decisions but I'd bet it's safe to assume that it all really IS.
The simplest traffic stop, well, I'm sure you know.
Just like everytime any one of us leave the house, the world can change in an instant.
Teaching and licensing security guards might be fun, for instance, or a 'scared straight'
program for the high schoolers.
There might even be grant money for stuff like that.

Start a security company for local events like concerts or rodeos or the state fair.
or maybe something completely unrelated that makes you want to jump out of bed every morning.
If the newspaper has nothing interesting, just flipping thru the yellow pages has pretty much every enterprise ever conceived. That's what I suggested to my daughter and her friends when they were looking for career paths.
See what interests you.

For me?
Mid 50's, busted up pretty bad from too much concrete in my younger days,
so I surround myself with trikes.
Faster to get around than crutches.
Mostly e start 250's outside every door.
Still fun to work on them, almost rather get them running than ride them.
They rarely get sold so they accumulate.

Riding them is 99% work related, farm chores and occasional
summer rides at the beach.

Funny how circumstances get us where we are.
Dead battery in Canada met us up with folks from New England
where we eventually went to college.
Nasty weather drove us south to Virginia (the frozen rain capitol of the east)
and discovered that school was free in Calif during the 70's.

Had a baby, enjoyed every minute of the Calif weather, grew a successful biz
and when the traffic got too absurd to go anywhere at anytime of the day or night,
looked for greener pastures.

Retired at age 41 and don't really care about being a gimp since 3 wheelers are the answer to most of
life's challenges.

I've gotten them to the point where they seem to pay for themselves.
Sold a superdependable, but ugly BR to a famer and bought 2 electrically challenged sx's
with that $.

Just went through a points fired 90 for nostalgia because as I remember, they always run and will go anywhere.

Today, is a trip to the honda shop for those 85 br main fuses that look like
tiny little wrenches from a malibu barbie dream house.

Looking forward to dragging a friend 1/2 mile driveway with an sx and spike tooth harrow as soon as the weather breaks.

Trikes add meaning to life and life to meaning.

Hi my name is Will I'm 27 from SW MI. I have been into trikes heavily for the past 3 years and before that it was anything with a motor. Rode my first trike when I was about 6, the neighbors had a little yellow Yamaha (not sure of the model) and I had a LT50 and we would switch rides once in awhile. A few years after that my dad brought home an 84 250R but I was too little to ride and it was too fast for dad so he sold it. We then got a BR that I rode for a few years and then sold and got other toys. Fast forward about 15 years, I'm 25 and working in GA on a project for work. Dad calls and says 'You'll never guess what I have...' Turns out he bought the 250R that he sold many years ago back from the same guy. I got home, rode it, fell in love and bought it from him. After that first one I really went crazy with the trikes and got a 84 200X and from there it snowballed.

My current rides are the 84 250R bored, ported, DG head, DG pipe and silencer, VF2 reeds and spacer, 38 mm AS, open K&N with Outerwear, BAPP progressive springs, TLR case saver, GForce 400EX extended hubs. I dune it, trail ride it, ice race it and circle dirt track race it.

I also have an 85 Tecate with a debored 200 KX cylinder, spacer plate, wild porting, 34mm Mikuni round slide, aftermarket ignition, and clutch. I traded the 84 200X for an 85 350X that is pretty much all stock except a Cobra pipe, a running 84 250R with Hondaline 300 kit, another 84 250R, and I bought another 84R with a 300 kit. I also have a 1978.5 Suzuki RM250 C2.

My road toys are a 2006 Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R 636 and a 1971 Corvette Stingray 350/330 HP (just rebuilt now pushing around 425 HP :) )

About me:
I have worked many jobs (jack of all trades master of none ;) ) first job was at McDonalds ;) worked in a casting factory, worked in a factory making parts for Hondas, worked in a plastics factory, worked in an industrial rack factory, worked in 2 different auto shops when I was in high school as a parts/service manager and technician for about 5 years. Did the college thing at Ferris State University in MI where I got my Bachelors in Computer Information Systems with a focus in Network Design and Database design. Didn't have any good job offers so continued my schooling and got my Masters degree in Information Systems Management with a focus in Network Security and Database Design. Been working in all aspects of IT since I was about 13. I have done anything you can think of in regards to IT, some legal and some very illegal (young and dumb). Graduated from college and got a job working in Fort Wayne, IN for a government contractor. We create the hardware and software that is used by the Department of Motor Vehicles to issue you your license. We have the DMV contracts in 48 states and about 30 countries. We are the largest provider of secure credentialing in the world. I am a Software Support Engineer/Integration Engineer which basically means I configure all of our server side software and workstation software to work with the state mainframe system. I am then responsible for the maintenance of that program till the end of contract. Right now I handle GA and KS and split work for ID with another guy I work with. I am responsible for nearly 100 servers, and almost 1000 workstations. It is a lot of long hours, and after business hour work but the pay is decent, good benefits and I enjoy the people I work with. I can think of other things I would rather be doing but unfortunately life isn't all trikes and fun. I recently purchased a house and got engaged so things may change slightly but I am excited. I enjoy working on the house but would much rather be in my new (to me) barn working on my toys and riding them. Sorry for the book :)

Hi Darrin here. I'm 47 got a great wife of 17 yrs and a 14 yr kid that drives me crazy, but we both love to ride. I graduated in 1988 from Fredonia with a BS in Recombinant Genetics
and never used it. I've been in Clinical Quality Assurance for the last 15 yrs and I'm the Clinical Compliance Manager for a Biomarker company that is developing a test for traumatic brain injury.

Never really owned a trike until this year. We had them as kids, but my younger brothers butt was always glued to it and I had my '72 Nova. My first ATV was a new 1988 Honda TRX250R....
loved it, but had to sell it when work got scarce. Bought a 2005 Honda 400ex in 2006, but ended up having surgery a few yrs later and thought I wouldn't be able to ride again so I sold it.
Well I got better. So now we have a 225DX, ATC 70, Tri-Zinger, 2007 LTZ400 and a 1990 LT250S.

Fun times.

Name is Mike, 25, married, one child on the way. I work in Technical Support for a surgical equipment company, Which is a division of Kawasaki MidWest. So alot of people here have huge backgrounds in mx and just motorcycles in general. Grew up riding dirtbikes and motorcycles, Rode a few trikes as a kid, and always told myself and all my buddies "those things arent made anymore for a reason"... Then I quit being a pussy and got a 1980 185 as a project earlier this year after rebuilding my TR200 and P3, And that quickly resulted in me getting a 200X that same week.

It's all downhill and picking up speed from there. You know how it goes...

I work in technical support for a 4x4 Accessory Mfg company called ARB. Love my Job. Learn something new everyday. I am 34 and never been married but have a long time gf who has a 12 yr old boy and they both live with me and my two dogs. I don't get to ride as much as I would like and I don't get to wheel as much as I'd like, but I do get to take company rigs to some major 4x4 events throughout the year so that keeps me somewhat happy. I started with a 77 ATC90 when I was 19 or 20 (it was cheap entertainment) and picked up another one some years later. Then I bought a 300EX and a Banshee and rode them alot but still had a bug for a bigger 3 wheeler.... Enter the Tecate.. Now I have two of them also.. Only things currently running have 4 wheels but i hope to remedy that soon.

Hi,my name is Matt, I'm 41 years old been riding trikes since the early 80s. I grew up on a large dairy farm which gave me a good work ethic. I then attended the pittsburg institute of aeronautics to get my airframe and power plant mechanics certification. I graduated from there and couldn't find a job in aviation so I wound up pouring concrete for the better part of a decade. Thankfully in 1999 I got into aviation and now work for a certified repair station doing maintenence inspection and major repairs and alteration to many different types of general aviation helicopters and fixed wing aircraft.

We have one son - 21 months old. We both grew up riding quads but my husband added our 350x to the family as "his" new bike and gave me his 2005 Honda 450r in 2007. That didnt last long. I took over the 350x and we sold the 450r for his now 250r. Been adding to the collection ever since. We boat alot and are snowboarders from our time in Colorado and Jersey. Chris here! I'm 39 (40 in Dec.) I grew up as an Air Force Brat. Both my parents were enlisted. My Dad always had Hot Rods growing up, so I learned alot about mechanics. I always wanted a 3wheeler as a kid, but we couldn't afford it, and we were always stationed on islands (Guam,Hawaii,Japan). So in 2001 I moved to Northern California from Colorado. A friend wanted to "upgrade" from a KXT250 to a Banshee, and gave me the Tecate for free! I have been riding the piss out of it since!!! 3 yrs ago I moved back to Colorado. When I got here I decided to give the Tecate some TLC, so it's in pieces in my garage. I have done alot of different jobs through out my life(baggage handler,trashman,machinist,semi-conductor manufacturing), now I am a Building Manager @ a High School. I am raising my 14yr old Son alone. He started out riding 3wheelers, but switched to a dirtbike. I am hoping to get my Tecate done before the Ice Races this year!

Rheese, 16. I will be 17 in july, and I'm a junior in school in New Wilmington PA. Definite motorhead and engine tinkerer.
I do not have a full-time job due to school, but every day that I have vacation (including summer) I go to work with my dad (Part-owner of a metal strut accessory stamping company) to do cleanup and organization work (not 18 so I cannot run machinery, or I would). I get paid through a paycheck and everything but its a job I never had to apply for or enter a resume. I can run a lathe and milling machine, but not at work at least while others around because thats illegal lol

I am in my 3rd year of a 2D and 3D Computer Aided Drafting and Design (AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor) course at my school. (love it, my dad does the same thing so it comes easy to me) Not to toot my own horn, but I excel probably the most in my class. I hope to enter the mechanical engineering field out of high school. I would love to be a tool and die specialist.

My first trike that I owned was a 83 185s that was pretty much a beater. Ran it till it died then sold it to some poor kid LOL
My dad Ron has quite the trike history. When the US90's first came out, my dad did not get one because his family had priorities in the wrong place (father was an extreme alcoholic) and did not have much money left over. When he did get an ATC, his first the US90, he saved and saved for many aftermarket parts, eventually ending up with a ~160cc Powroll Stroker Pauter machine Big Bore engine with a stage III WEB cam, MAJOR port work, all in a pauter frame that "wanted to rip your arm off." His exact next words were "They didnt have enough power!" So, my dad and his brother got in contact with Bill Something, owner of Hi Performance ATC and got two RD350/400 frames, one hardtail one softtail. My dad's bike had the RD400 and my uncle the RD350. This was about 1977-79, so way before the banshee ever came out. My dad always talks about how the engine were crazy especially on the dunes, where at silver lake they were unbeatable, even by cr480 powered trikes. My uncles RD350 was clocked at 13,000 RPM, and would go over a rumored 100 MPH. The only thing that ever beat him in a drag he said was a light old go cart with a john deere liquifire 440 snowmobile engine in it. No shifting = faster so my dad lost to that guy only.
Eventually he acquired two other 200x's one for himself and one for my mom. He sold the RD400 trike because my parents needed money to go to an important convention. The two 200x's were stolen in the early 2000's (01-03 I barely remember) and we were trikeless until I bought my 185s.
Since then we have bought and sold a 86 200x, sold the 185s, and bought another 200x (currently our only trike and being transformed into a powroll vintage bike replica) along with a four wheeled wonder 392cc banshee.
My dad and I specialize in port work and hi-power engines. Not really much into the fabrication business other than minor things.

Update about me since this was brought back TTT,

I am no longer a truck driver. I just recently started a new job at my town highway department. :D

I work the midnight shift in winter months to keep an eye on the roads and call the crew in at 2:45am if the roads need plowing. So far I am loving it compared to trucking! Best part is, I now have less than 1 mile to commute to work, and it's downhill! :D

I'm Eric, will be 33 on 9/17, was born and raised in Baltimore, and now live on a farmette in South Central Pennsyltucky with my GF and son (who will be 1 year old this Sunday). I worked as a Longshoreman at the Port of Baltimore right out of High School, then as an EMT, then decided to go to Nursing school a few years back and currently work in an ER down in Baltimore. I spend my days off hanging with the fam and our 2 dogs, repairing stuff that breaks around the house (built in 1891), trying to get our startup organic farming operation underway, studying martial arts, kayaking, skateboarding, playing music, and working on/riding trikes. I never owned one as a child because I had a wonderful, but very overprotective mother and lived in Baltimore...so my early experiences were riding with cousins and friends who lived in the country. About 6 years ago I wanted an ATV to have some fun with and get around in the snow. I bought a beat up KLT250 from a guy in PA that didn't run. Lucky for me, a cheap battery, carb cleaning, oil, plug, and air filter and she fired right up and still runs great today. My "sickness" has worsened, and I now own 9 trikes...or should I say 5 trikes and 4 projects.

Shoot, there are a lot of old guys on this site.... lol

I don't feel so bad now! I mean, seeing that im 49! Well, that's how old I am, How old I act is another story, I think im 20 and I feel like im 60! lol. Married (twice) no kids, three dogs and One cat. Born in New haven CT, raised just outside in Hamden, grew up building and riding mini bikes, dirt bikes, go carts... all sorts of bicycles anything we could find or scavenge from garbage day when they'd have the bulk pick up and folks would clean out their basements and garages... lol

I have been at my job for the last 26 years or so now, started out stocking shelves at a busy new haven CT plumbing Supply warehouse then moved up to delivery driver, got my class II to drive the big truck which meant delivering the really big, or really heavy stuff.

I came off the road after a few years and was doing inside sales when our side business selling Sanitary Pumps, Diaphragm Valves, tube and fittings took off which, at that time, I was put in the Q/C Dept. as the manager.
After a couple years, the building industry in the New Haven Area started to slowdown a lot, people just stopped building and even Yale Uni. slowed way back on the jobs they were doing. And to make thins worse, a couple bigger plumbing supply companies moved in and basically out priced and out numbered us so my bosses decided they needed to break loose of the plumbing supply side that was a quickly sinking ship and just move on with the Stainless Steel side. We did that and our business took off like a rocket! the core of the company, the two Bosses, myself, and three other office guys and two salesmen moved out of NH and are now centered in Milford ct. Business is great and we are the biggest supplier of the line of Sanitary Diaphragm valves we rep. We have two more full time salesmen and have picked up a number of product lines... life is good I guess, lets just hope it stays this way!

Names Angelo as some of you guys know. I'm 19 (ermahgerd a young dude). Went to school to be an auto technician, currently trying to get into University of Northwestern Ohio. I would love to get into the classic car and ATC restoration business. Grew up on a pair of 200X's, never knew quads existed until I was about 7 years old.

I'm a huge die hard Ford guy, grew up with a massively built '85 F250 so I'm biased to the 80-86 "Bullnose" F series trucks. I'm a huge Mustang lover, specifically 1967-1970 and 1974-1978 (yes, I LOVE Mustang II's). Big metal fan, listen to anything rock oriented, played in a several bands (guitar/bass/drums) and basically just like to have fun.

Would love a bunch of trikes but can't afford it right now.

My name is Thomas, I'll be 23 next month (August). I'm currently working at a Polaris/Cub Cadet/Stihl dealership. This spring was two years for years for me, and I've been slowly working my way up since I started. I started with assembly and PDI of new equipment, did a bit of front counter stuff, now I'm doing services and some repair work. I'm aiming to slowly work my way into more of a mechanic position.
No kids yet, don't plan on any for awhile. Got a girlfriend I've been with for about a year now, not sure if "she's the one" yet.
Always messing around with something mechanical, particularly old stuff, and I'm always outside.
