Bought This 1986 350X at a Local Salvage Yard ... Cleaned the Carburetor .. RUNS

iI bought this 1986 350X at a local Salvage Yard ... It was covered in MUD and was about to be CRUSHED with that big claw thing ... I paid $150.00 for it ... They actually charged me .30 cents a pound for it . I cleaned the carburetor ... installed a new plug ... starts on 1-2 kicks when cold and 1 kick when hot ... Runs .. good no smoke or leaks ... needs a front tire and rear fenders and seat. I think it was a decent score !!!

Not even close. You can get a nice OEM 350X fender on Ebay for around $50.00, and a nice tank for around $125.00.

Still a heck of a score though. Let me know if you want to get rid of it.

score is an understatement!!! thats just crazy! you wonder how something like that ends up in the junkyard to begin with. you can't blame the junk guys, they can't inspect everything that comes in. but who sent it to junk in the first place?????

they wont let us buy anything back from our scrap yard once its in there its basically gone, i wish i had the money and time to sit on side the roade and wait on some that gold that some people just trying to make a couple bucks off of.....

I may have committed a party foul by stopping at the spray car wash with my last farm score 250es.
It had 4 inches of pine needles and ferns growing from it and I was told,
in no uncertain terms, that it is
customary to take pix in their worst possible shape.

I guess you can always get it muddy again.

On a more serious note, what size are those rear tires?
I have some unmounted 18x11x8's that I've been told would not be good
on a 350. but I really wanna try them.

:cool:good buy, you saved that one . damn scrappers pobably stole it out of someones shed/backyard ,did not even try to make it run:crazy: , just wanted the $$ for drugs !!! the yard here wont sell you stuff ounce its in ,its gone,, I saw two 250sx's get thrown out some scrappers truck:( ,they were pretty rough, but when asked the office said no sale.. excellent save ,great start on a fine 350x . enjoy:D

At this point in time everyone knows a 3 wheeler in almost any condition is worth more than scrap and with all the avenues to sell them now (internet) I think the steal it and take it to the junk yard for drug $$ is probably accurate. Great save man, post picks when its done.

Check the vins!!Theres a very good chance you own a stolen trike..Most scrap yards dont sell these down here because they will get in trouble if its stolen so they crush awaay the evidence..75 percent of scrappers down here are thieves and there has been several stolen atcs....
