Well I mentioned Stompers in another thread and it seems like they go hand in hand with toys from the 80's and trikes and etc.. So who all has some? I have about all the Stompers that was given out from Mcdonalds happy meals and also one Stomper that was made in 1997 by a company called Peachtree Playthings Called Splash Down. Has a 3 speed trans and working headlights!

Stompers were awesome!! We had several growing up, not sure what happened to all of them. Used to love taking them apart once they "broke" to figure out how to make them work again. We even had Stomper parts machines. Good times. I don't remember the 3 speeds though, how did that work?

They called it a 3 speed it had high, low and neutral. Ive did alittle looking online and they even make 3wheeler stompers and odysees!

Awesome! I have been searching for the one I had when I was a kid. I know I had a Stomper but I also had a black Toyota (like "Back to the Future") made by Matchbox. They were called "rough riders". It had dish shaped outer wheels that let you balance it on two wheels. There was also KITT from ''Knight Rider" and I think the A-team van also. Here, I found an article on them- http://www.retrothing.com/2009/06/knight-rider-toy-with-4x4-on-demand.html

I loved my stompers. it's been a while but I remember having one or two that had cones in the center of the wheels so it could ride on two wheels and go around in circles. knowing my parents they were probably cheap knock offs but if they were I was like 5 so I didnt know any better.

Just!!!!!! GREAT Swampthang,,just what I need,,another hobby! I will resist,,maybe. I posted this in another thread,,but we Loved our Stompers, race tracks, courses, pull out the AA and put in a 9 volt. The motors held up dam well too! Even with 9 volts surging thru them. I had the pulling set up,,I hope I still do,,,but I fear with most of all my childhood goodies.. I gave it to my Nieces and Nephews. I still have my hot Wheels and Matchbox collections in their cases, along with what remains of my Stompers.

The trike riders sure had some sweet riding gear back then! I know the first thing I reach for when I go riding is a pair of dress slacks and some fresh Ice Cream Nikes.

I don't remember Stompers, but I was a kid in the 80's. I do on the other hand remember those battery powered Bigfoots http://www.ebay.com/itm/1983-PLAY-SKOOL-BIGFOOT-MONSTER-TRUCK-COMPLETE-KEY-PLAYSKOOL-NICE-SHAPE-/330669589116?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4cfd71827c and whatnot.. I had the Orange Blossom Special pulling truck...

I had the big foot and awesome kong I think was the other. Had lots of stompers, Water demons and accessories. They were cool. Used to put on water transfer model decals on them and glue on headers and other model car parts to make them souped up, Glue the tires together for duals then add custom weight brackets. Now almost 25 years later I make model pulling tractor and still play with 3 wheelers

They were called "rough riders

I still remember the jingle on the TV commercial: "Rough-Riders, Four by Four.... You can try to stop 'em!

Just like Ford versus Chevy debates, we argued which was better in second grade: Stompers or Rough Riders...

I could never leave anything alone when I was a kid... I took the running gear from a Stomper and put it in a slot car, then extended the pickups and slot pin... I made a monster truck slot car. lol. When we got really bored, we'd use rubbing alcohol to light the track on fire.... made awesome fire-roosts! Oh, if my mother knew what I was up to back then... on a side note, I always wanted the "Super Stunt Dirt Bike", but couldn't afford the 15 bucks... anyone remember those? We should have an "80's toys" sticky  http://americanplasticequipment.com/ampcat/boys/teamamerica.html

I had a High-Hoppin-Hoomdorm when I was a kid too.... that is till little brother of about 2 years old jumped on it and broke its legs! It was one of 3 or 4 different pneumatic robots you pumped up and let fly... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PxUtfjCoPTA&feature=related

After a little searching, I found out they were "Space Pets" by Tomy....

Wow! The good ol days of 3 wheelers and stompers! We use to modify them and have races and pull off's at recess. I super glued duals on mine and glued fishing weights insde the body. Even hooked up 9v on my dragster but it would burn the motors after a while.

Do you think in 30 years kids will be reminiscing about playing xbox?

IDK, I still remember Coleco and Atari.

I'd imagine these days that kids would remember Lady Gaga and who their favorite rapper is

Do you mean Intellivision...if so then Yes I do. Still have mine and about 25 games. I will take a pic when I get a chance!!!

Do you remember Intellivoice? This was a bolt on to the Intellivision and had specific games that would have more audio to enhance the game. One example was B-52 Bomber and when you would drop your payload it would say "BOMBS AWAY".

IDK. Stompers must have been only available in the US. I don't remember them at all? Great thread discussing all the old toys/entertainment sytems from the 80's. Simpler times for sure.

We had the Sears version of Atari. They called it... are you ready? "Tele Games"
I think they sold for over $200 back in the late 70's... tons of cash back then... remember wiring in the switch to the antenna screws? no RCA jacks or HDMI cables back then baby!
