Cut it off. Use a cut off wheel and cut a slot in it then hit it with a chisel.

Yeah johnny, briano is right. Get out your angle grinder with a cut off blade, and cut a slot through the bearing race taking care not to nick the inner steertube. As long as you cut like 95% of the way thru, a couple good whacks with a cold chisel/hammer should break it free.

A little torch heat doesn't hurt either though, lol!

I use a bearing seperator / puller. These are made to pop the bearings off. You know the bearings that fit right up next to a solid object ( like a crank bearing ). It pays to have and use the proper tools.

Do the stock races need to come off to replace the bearings with aftermarket style? I wanted to upgrade to All Balls when I put the 86 200s 185s forks on my 84 125m. Which model do I buy bearings for though? The 125m, or 200s, 185s?
