1984 Honda 200es interchangeability list
Since I have one, and since it is truly the most unique of all the models due to the blending of old features and new features, I wanted to start a thread just for the 200es.

Part interchanges, tips on 200es specific mods and fixes, and anything else we can use to bring these rarities back from their sleep.

I may or may not use tidbits of other folks' posts for my part.
So instead of trying to keep up with it, Let me just say THANK YOU to everyone on this site.
Especially the ones I "borrow" from to use here.

how about the muffler? Are there any from other models that will fit. I have not been able to find one yet.

If I the 84 200es in the shaft drive big red with the driveshaft in the middle which I believe it is, I have the rear end out of one of those behind my shop. I can take some pics this weekend if you would like and you can let me know if you are interested.

It was pricy, but when I restored my 200ES last year, I was able to order the muffler new from Honda (using your favorite on-line OEM parts distributor).

I used these guys since I can drive an pick up my parts (they make up for low prices with high shipping): www.cyclepartsnation.com It was $151.72.

Thanks frank/wonder boy. I know I can order a new one but im only into the thing for a 140 bucks (traded a canoe and replaced the rear end and put the right size tires&wheels on it) so Im trying to keep it cheep. I have seen them near mint for $1000-1200.

Totally understandable. Yea, that is a bit steep for a muffler, especially if you are keeping on a budget. I was doing a moderate restoration on mine, so I wanted the OEM muffler on there, and you just can't find these in good condition used (the tail piece always rusts off).
