I searched all over the internet for an inbred to english translator...couldn't find one anywhere..

He was probably born and raised here, but can't even put together a sentence let alone spell 'something'.

What's "something with room"? Does he want to trade it for a house?

don't really want to get political, but for the U.S. it all has to do with the "no child left behind" educational program they started about 10years ago.
original listing has been changed now, but you get the idea. there's plenty of sharp marbles out there for sure.
corrected listing (better but not exactly)

It has nothing to do with "No Child Left Behind", unless making sure that students meet certain standards to pass is a bad thing. Education in this country has been declining a lot longer than 10 years. My mother worked in the school system for around 25 years and had first hand experience. Over the years more and more parents blaming the school for their child having poor test scores, but yet the parents didn't sit down with their children to help them or make sure they did their homework.

Funny thing: My friends who have school age children, from elementary up to high school, who make sure their kids finish homework, go to school every day, and restrict access to video games, ipads, ipods, playing with friends, watching TV, etc. when their children came or come home with with bad grades, saw improvements in the child's grades to acceptable levels (I'm not talking straight A's here).

If you expect the government to make sure your child will be properly educated, you will be sadly disappointed. It's the parents job, not the governments.

I don't know anymore about "no child left behind" than to recognize the phase. Personally, my son's current teacher isn't much of a teacher and comparing the current to last years, I see a big difference, but as parents, my wife and I feel it's our responsibility to make sure he is getting all he can from school. This may require us to spend 1 to 3 hours a night, every night doing home work and helping him study (far more than last year). The teachers should be doing a proper job teaching but it is ultimately the parents responsibility to ensure a child gets everything they need to become successful adults. And to bag a little....my step daughter just had her honors program last week. Was accepted into the ROTC program, which she will getting a Masters in nursing then pull 6 years active duty. During her 6 years in school she will be a reservist, doing the normal drills while maintaining a full time college schedule and a 3.0 GPA. She works and needs minimal help from us. I know kids that went all the way through school with her who has dropped out, been on drugs and in jail. It's hard for me to buy it when the public educational system is blamed for poor parental support. It doesn't take a village to raise a child, it takes a family.

not saying the program was bad. just seems like things have gotten worse since then. sorry, i should've worded that differantly.
yes, i know what you mean about the parnets job to make sure they get the education. heck, all i have to do is look out my window to see that. neighbors across the street and next door have their kids home about 1/5-1/4 of the school year. school policy to have doctors write out an excuse to confirm they were sick, but i don't see how when the kids are out playing in the yard and street on the majority of those days. i'm talking 5-12yo and no parents around because they're too lazy to watch their kids or get them up for school because they're still sleeping themselves. it's a real shame. i know that's not the fault of the "no kids left behind" program, but i hardly see where it's doing much good when this part of the problem is just overlooked it seems.
more to the point. i have a niece that's a school teacher out in W.Va. and she's told me that from what she's seen the school systems do tend to push kids through somewhat though. she's against that and has had to fail a few kids, but they still somehow are passed on to the next grade.

Being a retired teacher of 30 years, the stories I could tell. There are good teachers and there are bad teachers, there are good parents and there are parents that aren't good, good motivated students and lazy unmotivated students. I have had situations where I have had all types. I had two brothers who are now doctors, I had a girl in my 6th grade class whose mother had her on birth control pills. I had one student who is now serving a life sentence in prison for shaking his infant son to death. It is not all the fault of the teacher. Look at society and see what a mess that is.
