Been watching a lot of vids on youtube and have seen some sweet mounting locations. Dammit250r's videos in particular are awesome. With time and plenty of mounts you can put a go pro nearly anywhere. Anyone have any unique mounting ideas? Also, how the heck did they get the camera mounted on the top of the whip??

One zip tie and a crap load of electrical tape for the whip mount. Works a thousand percent better on a buggy whip than a normal one. The normal whips can barely deal with the weight of the old model. The HD is heavier. Haven't tried it with the HD yet.

I took some footage of all the mounting spots a while back but not sure where I put it. If I ever find it I'll put it up on youtube.

That would be sweet if you found it. Any tips
Off the top of your head? The angle from the forks facing the shifter is rad. Just a regular curved mount?

Under the tail light to catch the roost! :beer

The fork mount was a custom made metal mount that bolts on using the front brake caliper bolt. Kasey here on the forums made that one, the rear brake caliper mount (seen in the imperial invasion chapter one vid, facing the shock, then facing rearward). He made another that mounts to the triple bolts. Billy Golightly made a rad one that stuck out a couple inches past the edge of the front fender that mounted using the triple clamp bolts. All those custom fab'd pieces used the standard flat adhesive mounts from gopro.

The shot from under the trike is just a flat adhesive mount stuck on the aftermarket aluminum rear skid plate on my 350x. I also have the gopro handlebar mount that I've put on the handlebars, rear grab bar, headlight guard. I've stuck mounts on fenders too. Even the rear axle once.

Here's some samples.

In this one you can see the first whip cam attempt. This is on a normal sized whip and I tried to mount it upright instead of hanging underneath and just flipping the picture (which works much better). You can see this whip has a hard time holding up the weight and hits the ground, throwing up some sand once or twice. Also in this one is the gopro handlebar mount looking back at the riders and also on the grab bar looking backwards. Also a lot of handheld shots. Towards the beginning when all the trikes roosted down the hill as I rode by behind them I was just holding the camera in my left hand.

This one uses the front brake mount that kasey made. Some facing backward, some forward. Also I have the cam on my helmet facing backwards since I was leading on that ride.

This one is a home made shin cam mount. Basically it's a shin guard that I filed down a flat spot on, used an adhesive gopro mount and then an elastic ace bandage to hold it onto my leg. I actually really like this angle a lot. I also tried that mount on my arm but it was way too wobbly to be used much.

Axle cam. Again, a bunch of electrical tape.

And this one has a bunch of stuff in it obviously. Handheld footage, skid plate cam, multiple bike mounts. I also took an extendable ceiling fan broom handle and mounted the camera to that. You can see that one when Eric is sidehilling and the camera goes under the roost where you can see the wheel.

Solid work indeed! I went on a you tube bender and watched most of those the other day, the variety of mounting spots you guys use are awesome. Can't wait to get my bikes in order and play with some mounting options. 250r should be done today. Hoping to get it broken in this weekend and be in the dunes in a couple weeks once I get my cr500 squared away.

The axle mount gave me a seizure. I demand reparations. A trip out there and a loaner trike will suffice ;)
