hi, im new to this site and i was researching kawasaki tecate 3 wheelers because im buying one off of my neighbor and what are the differences between the older models and the newer models (differences between the 84's and the 86's, 87's) thanks for any help!!!

You have a lot of reading to do. The 84-5s have almost nothing in common with 86-7s.

I know that the 84's and 85's are very similar with the most major improvement being a front disk brake on the '85's.

85 to 86 was a completely different machine. The only two similarities that I'm aware of is that they are both Green and Fast!

ALL 250 TECATES have electrical problems...Git it GRRReen!

Everything gets upgraded as you go from '84 to '87. Tons of fun, if you can hold on!

84/85: NON-powervalve motor

86/87: powervalve motor

All 3 of the wheels on the 85 Tecate are the same as the rear 2 on the 86 Tecate.. :D

1987 being the most rare and hard to find had a keyed ignition and a parking brake.
