made an autox for my son and everything fit together nicely, but i'm going through plugs after every ride. compression test good, carb good, plugs new 8dea or something to that order. wondering if its a coil issue. took apart the stator and flywheel and cleaned them good. nice blue spark from plug. checked my carb on a buds bike and it works fine. any ideas. $3.00 a plug/ride kinda sux, but maybe i don't have a choice. any ideas guys? thanx

Is it fouling them because it is running rich? if so adjust the carb accordingly do you have a service manual? if not click on the blue word there and get one

My 200s did this so I ended up just changing the plug wire and it stopped fouling the plugs.

sometimes the end of the coil wire gets crusty and corroded. (x2 w/ scratt)
Lots of people have had great luck just nipping off the last 1/4 inch of the coil wire and rescrewing the spark plug cap back on.

Does it seem like it's running rich?
maybe electrical breakdown at higher revs?
Grounds and other connections clean?

I got a sparkplug sandblaster for 13 bucks at harbor freight just for that reason.
Pretty harsh to ruin new plugs all the time.

Have you tried the search key? fouling or fouled plugs should get you tons of suggestions.

service manual
has all the test values.

If it's an x frame, make sure the kill switch ground is good because it nay also feeds the cdi
to both kill AND run.

Whats the spark plug numbers for the Iridium or the E3's? I tried looking for them but got nothing.

Is it fouling because of oil or fuel? If its fouling what's the color of the exhaust, and/or what's the color of the soot in the muffler?

tried the 1/4 inch of the coil wire, but no difference. i went ahead and ordered another coil. carb was put on another bike and it ran fine, so i don't think its the carb. i'll have to wait for snail mail to go any further. thanx guys. i'll post when i receive it .
