Noticed a fork oil leak on my new to me 1985 250sx. Took off the Carlisle tire on front and saw this. Wow! Really wish it was only my fork seals now! What exactly do I need to fix this?

Figure out why it was rubbing and pick up a new fork leg here or on ebay. Beyond repair

My 85sx did that too lol. Somehow the previous owner that ruined the bike also lost the spacer for the front wheel so it was sliding freely back and forth about an inch or two both ways on the front axle. I had to replace the fork halves because my front tire rubes through both of them lol FUN. Good luck man. And by little sleeve/spacer that belOngs on the front axle to avoid this issue again

Ok! Started to break the front shocks down this afternoon. Everything was going well until I got to the right side allen screw at the bottom of fork legs. It's one turn away from being stripped. Any bright ideas anyone? We have a shop at work but big bosses frown on the maintance guys doing work for us. I know this may sound crazy but has anyone ever glued or welded a allen wrench to a stripped screw? And if so did it work?

Maybe heat it a bit? like the aluminum that it goes into.

I have actually done that before. It worked for me, JB weld is great stuff. Best way to get those out is use a butane torch, heat the crap out of it and the will pop out pretty easily. Metal bolt in an aluminum housing....works every time.

WoW! It begins again! I just spent 4 years modding my enduro to the way it should be. Let me think about it! I like skinny tires but scared of the disc brakes!

Ok! Now it's stripped! Heated it up but was just to far gone. I only need the fork tubes . Can't I just drill it out? Not like I trying to save the slider.

Ok! A little update. All is good in the world!!! I bought a entire front end off ebay for $45 +$25 for shipping. Got it all together! I put a Cheng shin or (whatever the name of the company is) front tire on. The tire says 5psi manual says 2psi. Which one? Tried 2.4 psi but tire looks flat.

I would just mess around with the pressures. More pressure=Better steering. Less Pressure=Cadillac ride :)
I was going to say that I bought a set of forks off ebay for around that price, not too bad I thought

I had Carlisle Trail wolfs on my Big Red 250es and they did the same damn thing.
