I might have a good deal on this thing, just trying to get some possible fix's for this. The rest of the issues are small fixes.

Thanks for the help!!

If I'm hearing you right, the oil is being diluted by gas?

My favorite 250es had an empty gas tank and the oil was over full when I got it.

Oil smelled like gas so the only conclusion was what Kasey said.
Another reason to turn the gas off IF the petcock works.
What worries me is that sometimes they fuel shutoffs don't work or will leak a little and unnoticably
over time.
It's not surprising to walk up to a trike and see that gas has been leaking out the carb overflow.
Especially when they've been sitting for a few weeks.

Why does it not always run into the cylinder as opposed to out the overflow?
I don't know.

Guess that's why everyone around here checks the oil every time and gives it a sniff.
Oil that isn't low is not the only thing to worry about apparently.

Thanks guys, I thought most likely that, but just checking with experts.

Had the same problem with my 200s, drained the oil(after gas turned off), cleaned the carb and float bowl, refilled the oil and ran like a charm:beer. No problems after that!:w00t:

I have cleaned the carb, while it is down, gona change the clutches and have run into several other small deals. The PO busted the oil drain plug. I would assume from overtightening....but just several little things that need attention before I run it!!!
I figured the float in the carb was sticking, time will tell.....
