I'm replacing the axle bearings on my 400ex and it has an LSR twin row bearing carrier. Anyone know if I can just put 2 bearings on each side? It looks like they will fit but I'm just concerned that the center races of each bearing might not make contact with each other. Please only reply if you know for sure, no guessing. Thanks.

No you have to buy the specific dual row bearings to service those. 4 stockers wont work.

Holy crap are you serious? Well I'm sure you are. That SUCKS! I already have a set of stock bearings and seals. Plus this is the cast carrier which also sucks, in my opinion. It has a slight crack near the snap ring. I'll probably just buy the twin row bearings. I found some for $32 shipped but I'm kind of debating buying a billet carrier.
Edit. I know I can just research this but do you know if I can use the stock 400ex bearings in my 85 ATC250R?

i believe you can, they are nearly the same axle and besides the outside diameter of the carrier itself, they are nearly identical also.
