HI. I just picked up an 85 big red 250es. sweet machine but it needs a little help. I'm wondering if the plastics off another machine (i.e 200 es) will fit on my 250es. i mainly need the rear fenders. if parts are interchangeable that makes my search a little bit easier. and you guys know alot more than me.

Thanks

No they will not interchange... Look at Maier plastics, they are a great replacement... (I am rocking maier fenders, front and rear, and trunk lid on my BR)

I almost pulled the trigger on some replacements for like 200 bucks
and in the time I waited, a whole parts trike came up for 100.

How bad are yours?
They can be plastic welded or stitched a few different ways.
Or riveted with some sheet metal backing.

Also best to make sure the whole machine is healthy..
Shifts smoothly, GEAR oil in the rear axle, that kinda thing, and then move on to spending
'extra' money..

Too bad maier doesn't make side covers too.

Have you found the manuals yet?
service manual should be lit up as a clickable link.

Really all of the plactics r in great shape. Exept I'm missing the whole lower half of the right rear fender. And I don't have the side covers eaither... But the previous owner might still have em.

And thanks for the tip on maier ill use that as a last resort.

I'm currenty going through it all getting it running again. Had been sitting for a while but I got it to run for a little bit so I know there's hope. Haha.

If you can't find any for the price, you can plastic weld/bolt and paint yamaha moto-4 fenders to match. Not original by far, but looks like it when done.
