Anyone have their CDI box go bad on a 1985 honda atc -250r ?

im just wondering if it is rare for these cdi units to go bad . Ive checked almost everything else, including pulling the flywheel to see if the keyway broke. Everything seems to be in good shape but isnt it rare for CDI box to go bad ?

that sounds fair....you are 100% sure it works for 1985 - 250r atc ?
