I noticed one day oil spouting out of the recoil pull rope hole, i took it apart and found a seal between the recoil and stator "wall." i ordered the part off of bikebandit but hasn't arrived yet, so in advance im studying how to install the seal :wondering . Also I live in the north where winters are -30 or -40 celcius but still ride, I've been told that doing that and not switching to lighter oil pushed out that seal and will do the same to others, will it? Any helpould be apreciated!

most of those seals should be pressed in and not hammered in :( try the lighter oil, but i'm not totally educated on colder climates :( how much was the seal kit? maybe the new seal will hold up with your oil. good luck :)

The seal cost $15:cry:, ya the lighter oil should help but the seal seem tore not just pushed out, i inpected the shaft that connects to the recoil but no imperfections i found:wondering
