Mine is toast. Thus previous owner scares me. What after market filters do you guys run?

My suggestion is stick with foam filters, uni or moose make good ones.

Yup. Pj1 makes a tacky spray for them that works good. Clean often.

Yup, i like foam filters. I run uni, you can get them for tri z for about $20.

are you using the stock air box? If so then I recommend the K&N, If not I still recommend a K&N!!! But either way use a pre-filter from K&N even if you go with a foam filter, to much protection never hurts!

Yes stock air box from what I can tell. OK guys thanks. These 2 strikers are like classy woman in maintenance compared to my old 200x haha

These 2 strikers are like classy woman in maintenance compared to my old 200x hahaThat may be, but I really hope that you oiled your 200x air filter as well. There isn't any difference between 2-stroke and 4-stroke when it comes to the air it's breathing!

I have not, but I have very few hours on both machines, waiting for my vacation in a few days to do full maintenance on both machines.

What kind of 4x4 van do you have? I have a factory 74 quadravan econoline super van with HD 44 front and 60 rear. Wagon doors on side. 4 wheel drive vans are my other hobby!!

I actually no longer own a 4x4van, but I did for so long that the name is kinda hard to get rid of, you know? It was a '89 Toyota 4x4 van, fully loaded LE, lifted, BFGs. I drove it for 15 years, daily driver plus alot of off-road use. Tranny finally gave up at almost 400,000 miles, everything else was still good.

I run both a Uni and a K&N. You wont notice any difference in the way it runs. The K&N has more surface area so it takes longer to start clogging, but its mostly a matter of which one you find easiest to clean and service very frequently. Also the K&N does not require the plastic filter cage, as the foam does, so if its missing KN is the easy fix.

Good work man. I love them to. I found mine in a field in Gillette Wyoming while working in the coal. Body WAS RUSTY. but luckily the guy rebuilt and cammed the original 302 and mated it to a brand new c4... than parked it field bound. Traded one of my revolvers for it and drove it home lol. Its had some major body work done for sure

Most foam and K&N style filters are going to be high flow and better than factory

Ended up buying a new moose foam filter for the tri z. Haven't installed it yet though.. never oiled a foam filter before. I've got a k&n recharge kit for the original filter though. Can I oil foam with the k&n spray and install that Bad boy?
