aluminum cleaner on carb?

the outside of my carb is pretty bad looking, and i was wondering if i could use aluminum cleaner on it, and also can i use it on the top end of my motor?

i use chem dip from walmart.. only 20 bucks and soak the whole thing . but i dont know what will work as a spray on...:)
