hey guys, just accuired an 86 Tecate 3, its not too rough but i picked it up for $775. iv always wanted to own one but never came across a decent runner. the guy had it parked a few years in his garage but it starts right up ( with the old gas ). its missing complete front brakes, rear fender mount, it has the rear shock but its rough, and some other odds and ends. original wheels and tires all around, seat, tank, shrouds, and headlight with bracket. it has new dg pipe and silencer, prm grab bar. im going to tear it down to redo the frame and go over all the bearings, seals, and take complete inventory. so far i picked up a headlight shroud here from Justin and front caliper and oem fr brake line on ebay. i build a Tecate 4 about 10 years ago but this trike is way cool.. hopefully i can post some pics soon..

thats a great looking T3! lucky find, for 775 thats not a bad price at all. I would have picked it up being in your shoes. Whats the plan for it? any upgrades or mods?

Nice looking Tecate! It looks super clean. Something is weird about that headlight shell though...

thanks... so far iv been shoping around for the restore, i picked up a new rear fender and front fender, a new headlight cover from Justin, OEM repop decals, oem front brake line and caliper, headlight bracket and rear fender bracket from the 3WW shop.., and a bunch or misc hardware. im going to take it down to the frame and get it powdercoated, check the motor and cooling, polish the aluminum parts, and ill hopefully be able to restore the rear shock ( its in bad shape ) ill post pictures to get input...

thanks, the headlight cover looks to be a home made fiberglass cover... iv already tossed it and replaced it with a repop from Justin...!

you know the time you would have invested into that, i think you would be better off selling that to me for an even 800. you're still making money and don't have to deal with it. haha

but nice score
