How often should you start them to keep them running good? Once a week, once a month?

I run mine hard daily... But thats just me. LOL

I would say every weekend would keep everything in good shape, but then thats my opinion because i would check everything on Friday evening on all my toys so they are ready for the weekend. Also on the electric start toys i put hardwired battery maintainers on them, so they just get plugged in when parked to keep the battery topped off.

k and n lets in a lot of fine dust any others are just opinion i think
but you will need to jet it with the new exhaust

Yea I figured that since they flow more air I have always used k&n on my cars but I can see why it would be a bad idea on a offroad vehicle. I will go with a uni and save my motor. How do I go about jetting it and where can I get the parts I need -thanks

jets r us is a good place to get jets i hear
search jetting in the search box or go to Trikesylvania and click on world class help then there is a sticky called "Carb Jetting 101: Terms, Tips and Jetting Theory (http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthread.php/55086-Carb-Jetting-101-Terms-Tips-and-Jetting-Theory)" that should start you off

your not far off there. there is a reason they flow more air.
i have one on the 125, but i also run a prefilter with it also. :beer

i very well could be wrong, but from what i understand K&N basicly got their start with desert racing. although you have to remember most race teams change out their motors pretty frequently. also makes sense too that they can be cleaned and are reuseable. :beer

what do you guys think about having the air filter right on the carb inlet I have seen this with some carbs that come with a small filter on them

You mean by eliminating the airbox? I have always been against air box removal, but to each his own.

I understand most wouldnt do it for mud/water riding but all I do is ride trails no crazy mud bogging, will a filter right on the carb inlet be fine and what size filter does it take?

what size jet is good for the exhaust mod?

Unfortunately, there is no secret formula for jets vs. exhaust.
I wish there was.
It's almost not worth risking exhaust stud breakage and the headaches of jetting for days. IMO

Then again, with a little patience, you may hear from someone who has the exact
same parts upgrade that can tell you exactly what works.

the search key is working like a dream these days.

My personal concern is to pass off road regs for spark arrest and decibels
for when we leave the farm.

What main jets should I get for a stock 200m going to a Cobra exhaust and filter upgrade??? if it still runs good after the exhaust I wont touch anything else besides the main jet I just dont want it running lean at wide open throttle.

what is the stock jetting I have been told to go up 2 jet sizes to start on main

WJG1000W

AtcMan4Life
06-09-2012, 11:44 PM
yea I ordered two size bigger on the pilot too just in case I cant tune out the mid range on the screw.......... Im having a 100 main added as well I thought the stock main was 100 so I got a 102 and 105 knowing my luck the 102 will be to much and the 100 was the one I needed lol

WJG1000W
06-10-2012, 08:02 AM

AtcMan4Life
06-10-2012, 08:32 AM
Stock is either 35 or 38 I got a 40 just incase but it should run fine on the low end with some tuning on the screw. I will deff swap in a bigger main start with the 100 and see what happens.
